Re: Connacht 2023/24
Sounds like Munster have taken another Connacht player in Tom Farrell. Big loss for Connacht. Munster seem to be targeting Connacht for backs instead of developing them. Not a bad move for either party. Opens up some gametime for Hugh Gavin in Connacht and should give Tom Farrell a new lease of lif...

Re: Ross Molony leaving Leinster
Do Leinster legend Tshirts still exist? Would be great to get Ross one before he left. The first one we did was for Girv, the original club man anti-hero, selfless and played his guts out for the club. Ross is exactly that type of player. Agreed. Ross has done a huge amount for this club and team.

Re: New contracts for coaching ticket
Excellent - Leinster have made great signings either side of the white line Yes, seems like a very good signing. Outhalves and inside centres have a head start in coaching on most other players. A lot of the decisions about how and where the game is won and lost go through them and they have to hav...

James Lowe being on a central contract will be news to him. Because he doesn't have one.riocard911 wrote: ↑April 16th, 2024, 10:06 pm Meanwhile, the begrudgers are in full swing at the Indo:

Re: Jordi Barrett to sign for Leinster
We are big spenders - there's no need to be embarrassed about it. Irish provinces have large budgets - in comparison to the Premiership at least - because Irish rugby is really well run financially with a completely integrated pyramid system that benefits and grows the game from the grassroots thro...

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2
I don't really buy this idea of ROG as a cheque book coach. He joins La Rochelle ahead of the 2019-20 season with Jonno Gibes as his Director of Rugby. Then he becomes top dog for the 2021-22 season. He certainly hasn't signed most of their best players. Botia and Atonio are over a decade at La Roc...

Re: Croke Park to host major Leinster rugby games
I hope I’m wrong but I really can’t see us getting more than 50k to Croke Park. ERC is organising which won’t help. The best hope is group offers and deeply discounted tickets. I think Nowlan Park would have been a much better option IMHO. Appreciate the immediate financial considerations but takin...

A brilliant performance and a well-deserved and definitely much sought-after win for the lads. They should be really proud – they showed the best of themselves today. Cannot wait to watch it again!

Re: Leinster exiles, where are they.
Beirne was a better underage player tbf, if Dunne improves as much as Beirne did as Scarlets, i'd hope leinster would have learned their lesson. I think we should have picked him up at this juncture. He is a good player, super mobile for his size. I'm a fan and would have liked to see him back at L...

Re: Ulster 2023/24
Cunster really worked as a team name  Surprising how weak the squads were in hindsight. I think Sam Coghlan Murray, Andrew Boyle, James Tracy, Cathal Marsh and Marty Moore all obviously progressed to the Leinster Academy, but I know very little about Robert Hynes, Mark McGroarty, Conor Spence ...

Re: Connacht 2023/24
Great win for the stone-eating men of the west. Particularly big night for Prendergast Snr., who showed great pace to ally with his excellent fitness to bag the second of his tries. They were his sixth and seventh tries of the season, an excellent return for a forward. He has had a particularly busy...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????
Leaving Ahern stationed out on the wing was a waste. He wasn’t in the game in the second half and Munster were struggling in the tight collisions and protecting their own ball. It’s not a surprise to the opposition defence when he gets the ball in a wide channel when he’s waiting out there all game...

Re: Leinster Academy 23-24
Having seen Sam Berman up close in a big game yesterday against Tarf, if it's true that he's going to Ulster we've missed out on a gem there. He was superb Both centres, Sylvester and Berman, were good yesterday, particularly defending. I'd be disappointed if we end up with neither de Klerk nor Ber...

Re: Croke Park to host major Leinster rugby games
Think URC quarters and semis will probably be more dependant on opposition rather than the stage. If Ulster or Connacht are the quarter final opponents, could generate some support and a big event feel for a quarter final. Conversely a semi final with Benetton, Glasgow, Edinburgh or a South African...

I like de Klerk, would have liked to see him at Leinster. Not sure that Ulster is any better of a landing spot for him with Hume and Postlethwaite at No13.Theleafysuburb wrote: ↑March 27th, 2024, 6:33 pm Players find out about academy contracts this Friday. Re: Ulster 2023/24
It's the right move. He made an absolute tits of the situation last year around the Ravenhill pitch and the La Rochelle game, and it looks like bedlam up there at the moment around the short term future of the squad. It is the right move. He has had a decent run in the job to make his mark. After i...

Is there any club in world rugby who regularly attracts 28,000 to it’s home fixtures? Even 75% of them? UBB in the Top14 - according to this report [here: https://www.rugbyworld.com/countries/france-countries/top-14-attendance-records-broken-this-season-according-to-league-154367 ] they average 28,...
