Re: Schools Rugby 23/24
I know it's happened for a reasonable while, but it's not a good look IMO. I completely get the attraction of it to the player and his family, but it still feels a bit icky. What this rule has meant is that it is not realistically possible for players coming through the clubs pathway to get picked ...

Re: Dublin Rugby Club for Kids
Hi all, I have a son who just turned 6 a few weeks ago and I would like him to start playing rugby. I am living in the Kilmacud / Stillorgan area in Dublin. I know that there are plenty of clubs within a 2/3 KM radius but does anyone have any suggestions as a good club that is nearby ? He has frien...

Re: Age Grade Interpros
Did I hear correctly that Connacht beat Ulster U.18's in Galway on Saturday? Can't find a result anywhere. Yep, 39-17. It was Ulster clubs though not schools: https://www.connachtrugby.ie/news/impressive-u18s-see-off-ulster-in-style/bp2663/ Connacht 19s defeated Ulster too: https://www.connachtrugb...

Re: Age Grade Interpros
That's 11 different Schools and 9 different Clubs providing players to a Leinster Under 19 Squad. Seems a fairly even distribution. But when you analyse the distribution, there's a distinct preponderance in favour of five Schools, with 4/5 players from each (Blackrock, Belvedere, St Michaels, St Ma...

Re: Age Grade Interpros
An extended squad has been named by Leinster Rugby Under-19 head coach Adam Griggs for their summer programme. They kick off their Interprovincial campaign away to Munster on Sunday, 20 August. Round 2 takes place on Saturday, 26 August, for their first home game against Connacht in Energia Park, be...

Re: URC 22/23
If he is so keen about improving standards in the league, he should put resources into training up, monitoring and paying a panel of good referees. At the moment, 90% of refs who ply their trade in the URC are way below the standard required for a serious league. It has long been a problem going ba...

Re: Tighthead Prop going forward
Dan Brennan is 132kg loosehead. Does anyone think he'd be the same weight having come through the Irish system? He'd be a good chunk smaller. I don't know whether he'd be a better or worse player. It's not just scrums, it's not just youths rugby. As an aside, Brive have been relegated so it's a bet...

Probably a bit late to the party on this but did anyone else think colm de buitlears comments after the AIL final were total sh!t? Making out like academy players up and down the country were getting smoked by AIL lads. The very odd time maybe and ironically it was the loose head prop on his own te...

No bother. Didn't want to miss anything today. ;-) it wouldn’t have been a bad idea to have it as a double header with the Leinster v Sharks match. Next year! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Great idea. Introduce some people to the Club game. And would cut costs of opening stadium for a second d...
