Re: Schools Rugby 23/24

71 for Blackrock. That’s incredible all the same. They might not do it next year given only 2 starters back next year but they won’t be too far off given majority of the replacements were 4th / 5th year. Who else will be strong next year? Michaels was mostly 6th year so might not be that strong? As...

Re: Zebre v Leinster Sat 23 March KO 7:35pm RTE2

We need five points this weekend. The fringe players have had a few matches against reasonably strong sides, to build some momentum so that should serve us well. What’s interesting is the list of potential starters in our strongest squad, who are unavailable this weekend. Porter, Healy Sheehan, Kel...

21 year old Michael Moloney got a late call up. Top point scorer in the AIL, plays scrum half with UCD

Re: Leinster Academy 23-24

Spicer is a cert for the academy now I think. Always was a cert. This isn't a cut at you Mildly, I suspect you are of the same opinion and just putting it down in writing. Leinster would be guilty of ridiculous over-thinking to overlook a 208cm/130kg lock with Ireland age-grade experience and an ex...

Re: England v Ireland Saturday 9th March 2024 4.45pmTwickenham

The Grand Slam is the prize, and we've 100% left this one behind us. So the whole 6N is pointless unless a team wins the GS? We lost our 8th RWC QF so this team has failed like all the others! An attainable world record is the ultimate measure so wining Olympic Gold sucks! This binary era we...

Re: Leinster Academy 23-24

I have heard that Casper Gabriel potentially joining the academy this year. Seems very surprising to me. Similar situation to Lucas Berti Newman and Karl Martin where sub-academy not really a runner, and plenty of interest from other clubs and provinces and Leinster don't want to lose him. As I sai...

Re: England v Ireland Saturday 9th March 2024 4.45pmTwickenham

uper proud of Ireland. We were terrible today. england fully deserved the win. We are tiny, in rugby terms to england. It's our 4th sport yet england celebrated like they won the world cup!! We will still win the championship next weekend! Looking back it feels good seeing how much England celebrat...

Re: England v Ireland Saturday 9th March 2024 4.45pmTwickenham

That was a pretty brain dead decision kicking it back to them given the circumstances. Pretty pathetic we didn’t back ourselves to be able to hold onto the ball for 100 seconds. We were poor today.

Re: Leinster Academy 23-24

Year 3s Boyle Lasisi Murphy Cosgrave Presumably Boyle and Murphy will move onto contracts while Lasisi and Cosgrave leave Leinster That will leave an academy with 2 props 1 hooker 1 lock 3 back rows 1 SH 1 OH 2 C 2 W and 1 FB for a total of 14 filled places. I would expect us to bring in 6-7 new ac...

Re: Irish U20s 2024

I saw a post on another forum about how u20s is really another level to the senior teams though. I can see a player like Gleeson not translating to higher levels, he makes a lot of yards going through players rather than around and as you go through the levels that becomes tougher to do. Also playe...
