Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

Munster confirm that ticket sales went over 30k in the first day of public sale.

Very good indication, but hopefully momentum continues.

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

There's an Ulster poster on another forum who is "in the know". You can take that with a pinch of salt of course... He claimed that the touring fees is what puts Ulster off from hosting these. You never really see modest size stadiums host these one off touring games. Where would Ireland ...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

Uh huh! I know there is a potential for a massive upside for the hosting team, especially if they sell out a relatively large ground. What I am saying, and I thought that would be clear based on the second line of the the quote, is that I didn’t realise the likes of Ireland A or a club could make a...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

I see what you're saying and I agree with the fallout from Carbery. I'm not saying I hate Munster by any means, but I also haven't really cheered them on since. I like what they are doing with these exhibition games, though I'm not sure if there is much money to be made from them... given the exorb...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

..... I never thought of the financial gain from games like this. It’s a wonder Ireland A and Leinster don’t go on the road more. ..... No doubt brining in a few million in additional and much needed revenue. Uh huh! I know there is a potential for a massive upside for the hosting team, especially ...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

What would Harry Byrne know about winning in Gloucester? https://all.rugby/match/18042/champions-cup-2022-2023/gloucester-leinster Should I wait for you to point to all the press that came out suggesting that it's time to ease Sexton out of the Irish team (or for Ross, seeing as he started). No one...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

It’s clear that the negativity will take care of itself on here. So to bring some positivity, as I’ve already said, and as confirmed by Munster, all stand tickets have already sold for the friendly against the Crusaders, and at prices which are inflated based off of the opinion of some. Munster will...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

On the Wasps v Munster game, it is odd to see some of the negative posts. While it would not be fair to say that it was a complete seconds team, it was a severely weakened team. 1/3 of the starting 15 made their debut in that game. 2 of these were in the front row. In addition to the 5 debutants, H...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

In less than an hour all stand tickets appear to have sold. It would be very interesting to hear how many tickets are remaining. With this being the second game in Pairc Ui Chaoimh looking likely to sell out. It definitely shows a massive appetite for these kinds of fixtures in Cork. For reference, ...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

The Munster v Crusaders tickets go on public sale of anyone is interested in heading to the game. I’ve heard that almost twice the projected number sold through the presale process, but not sure on what the number is. With some saying that this game is priced to high and predicting that this game wo...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

Bumped into John Ryan yesterday, thankfully not literally because the man has put on some serious bulk.

He looks fitter than I’ve ever seen him.
Hopefully he can hit the ground running on his 2nd return to his home province.

All additional tickets are now also gone.
Looks like there is far more demand for this game than expected.

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

Amazingly, the full allocation of stand tickets for presale sold out in under 3 hours.

Additional tickets have now been made available, but appear to be selling very fast.

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

I was thinking of the comment that I’ve seen a couple of times on here regarding the devaluing of other fixtures by hosting touring sides. I wonder if that impact is largely negated by hosting these in Cork, as you wouldn’t expect too many Cork people to travel to lesser games in TP anyway. This is...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

To put some facts around the BS, TP attendance post the SAA game was greater than the capacity of any other provincial ground in Ireland, and higher than the capacity of many club stadiums in Europe. TP average post SAA = 19,614 MP post SAA = 8008 (qty 2 sell outs.) The season average at TP = 18,145...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

Pricing is on the cusp of being very expensive. Terrace starts at €25, which is really a lot for a friendly during the 6N against a club side. There's also the Barbarians game, so there's no shortage of laps on honour. And there comes a stage where maybe the marketing push would be better served be...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

Not sure if it is posted already, but for anyone interested in going to the Clash of the Champs, the ticket details are attached.

The pricing is pretty good, and I’d imagine it will be close to a sell out.

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

Not sure that this is a lack of privilege thing. Okeke went to the same school as Craig Casey and plays for the same AIL club. There are a good number of players who come through the Munster ranks which wouldn’t fit the bill as polite robot schoolboys. Just looking at the current academy crop, it wo...
