Re: Cardiff Away, March 2nd
Clarkson really looking like he’s turned a corner. Solid enough in the scrum, which is a big improvement from where he was 12 months ago. Making breaks up in midfield and leading the effort in line speed defence. I’m impressed. He has been managed so well. Some on here would’ve had him on the scrap...

Re: Cardiff Away, March 2nd
Ross and Luke pick on up where they left off against Treviso too. Awful kicking there.

Re: A whiff of Cordite
Billy Walsh maintained his position as one of the most successful and winning boxing coaches in the world after he was turfed out. EOS never got another big job and now splits his time being a fairly mediocre media talking head and having strange semi conspiracy theory views. Those two are not the ...

Re: Cardiff Away, March 2nd
That's a mixed looking Cardiff side.
Backrow is very strong but not a huge amount outside that.
Carre v Clarkson will be a good battle.
Very small pack in terms of height so we'll be looking to attack the lineout.
I'd say Harry is thankful Halaholo isn't starting!

Re: Cardiff Away, March 2nd
So we don't want players to make impacts off the bench? Why not play the game with 15 then? Making an impact off the bench is not the same as 'come off the bench and change the game'. I don't want to have a debate about the definition of words if I'm honest. The point was that having a 9 come off t...

Re: Cardiff Away, March 2nd
All that said he still isn't trusted in tight games to come off the bench, that's either a management or a personnel problem considering scrum half is the one position in the backs where you'd want a sub whos primed to come on at 60 minutes and change the game. Need to develop some depth there cons...

Re: Cardiff Away, March 2nd
It's a fair point on the pass but he does offer a lot around the park not least that he's got nearly 50 tries for us, his defence and box kicking are also excellent. Oooohhh not sure about that either! I regard him as one of the best defensive 9's I've seen. He's like an extra back row in that rega...

I know he's a really good player, but we need to start building depth at scrum half especially if McGrath isn't trusted for big games...

Re: Cardiff Away, March 2nd
Luke McGrath isn't trusted in the big games until they're won, surely when we play Cardiff without an internationals we can work to develop a younger scrum half. His pass isn't suddenly going to come good at 31. It's a fair point on the pass but he does offer a lot around the park not least that he...

Re: Cardiff Away, March 2nd
I think if Cormac Foley was fit he'd probably be getting more time in the saddle alongside Luke.

I'm not convinced you know what a straw man is. Could you explain where you've seen do many of them. You've misrepresented or responded to least three points in that last post that I didn't make and I don't think anyone else has made. I'm not sure if it's through ignorance or designed to antagonise...

Re: RWC 2027 : Ireland
There is a happy medium. Development is happening all the time. Players are getting chances. Ireland have rotated, given opportunities to new players and been relatively innovative in selection. It's all well and good to cite the example of Loughman but a few extra caps at this stage aren't going t...
