Re: England v Ireland - A proper review
Which Earls made a complete mess of in that case. Also waits for Dan's critic of BOD's rushing out of the defensive line as well. I'm not Earls biggest fan but criticising his performance in the 13 channel, about 2 mins after being thrown in there is ridiculous. Earls is supposed to be a better 13 ...

Re: England v Ireland - A proper review
Are you critical of the system or the player? Yes BOD does it well but no player is going to get right 100% of the time (even BOD).Danthefan wrote:BOD does it well. What criticism can you level when it's done properly?

Re: England v Ireland - A proper review
Did you two clowns watch the game? The very first thing he did at centre was rush out of the line leaving a huge gap which Cueto made it through. And it's perfectly reasonable to worry about his physicality, as the French game showed. He was very good against England on the wing though. waits for D...

Re: England v Ireland - A proper review
I can't figure out how we're going to find our back up/next tighthead. Regardless of who it is and whether or not Hayes will make the WC we need someone else to get a serious amount of gametime. I wonder would it be a good idea to rest Hayes from now until the next 6N and give someone else a go fro...

Re: England v Ireland - A proper review
Jesus Ronk, how did we win according to your review? I'd like to add one negative on the performance. Earls at 13. He ran out of the defensive three times he was in that position and only inept English backs couldn't push him. Also his defensive is far from international standard. He is always push...

Re: Xavier Rush joins Ulster!!!
True, its a lot of dosh alright. Perhaps the IRFU are putting this cash into Ulster Rugby in order that they can make the step up which Munster and recently Leinster have made in Europe. There is a fairly strong fan base in Ulster, with lots of potential to grow further. If the team was to make say...

Re: Xavier Rush joins Ulster!!!
As next season is RWC season, and bearing in mind that the Irish Management have decreed that the International squad's game time be limited this season, we can only presume it will be even more closely monitored next season. And as the RWC runs from 09/09/11 to 23/10/11 that's the guts of two mont...

Re: Xavier Rush joins Ulster!!!
A lot of the posts above seem to be making the point that Ulster could do with additional cover in their back-row. This may well be true but in those circumstances, they should have done one of the following three things: (a) gone for an Irish-qualified player such as Neil Best (who was obviously u...

Re: Xavier Rush joins Ulster!!!
A. Fair enough re: Best, but what about Wilson who has been excellent for Northampton this season. I'm sure there are others knocking about who I'm overlooking. B. SH players may be lessing willing to move at the moment but there would be no impediment to snapping up a NH player like Parisse or Har...

Re: Leo Cullen being taken out of it
So, let me understand this - a blatant and cowardly sucker punch from behind pretty much knocking Leo out, and ensuring an early substitution for our Captain gets you 4 weeks, yet tugging at someones scrum cap in a vigorous manner followed by histrionics from the owner gets you 12 weeks. yes, that ...

Re: Boss set for move to Leinster
Declan Kidney is wrong ..I agree with Isaac for Leinster on this...Boss shouldn't even be in the A squad..Surely this should be a squad to promote up and coming players not an opportunity for hasbeens to have another go Kidney is trying to do one of the many things EOS failed to and that was build ...

Re: Isaac 4 Leinster ??
If Boss is losing his central contract as is rumoured and Ulster can't afford to keep him then it makes sense for him to go to another Irish province. An overseas player would have a certain amount of his wages paid by the IRFU (about 100k I think) and if Boss is no longer centrally contracted then...

Re: Leinster V Brive Squad
Some of the comments in the papers this week have quotes from Brive players who state that they don't want to end the pool stages on zero points HOWEVER they also state that they've a big TOP 14 midweek game coming up (I can't remember what date that's on). Why would they do anything that might red...

Re: Official : Joe Schmidt new head coach
some of the SH press have mentioned that the Melbourne side will be able to contract up to 10 non national players in its first year (if the team actual goes ahead). Wonder if Cheika plans to bring any NH players back with him or will they line up the Argie's ahead of them joining the Tri Nations.

Re: Tommy Bowe next season.
As far as I'm aware there aren't top ups but stand to be corrected on that. Sponsorship and marketing oppertunites maybe an add on for the individual provinces but in terms of the marketing side surely Ulster would have a front runner with him being a local boy and probably a bigger number of spons...

Re: Tommy Bowe next season.
Must say, I was under the impression that TB's point is correct. Tommy Bowe would be centrally contracted, so Leinster couldn't bid more. Just a contract thing, no? Maybe there are top ups or something for marketing reasons? Or maybe Leinster could have offered 3 years? As far as I'm aware there ar...
