Re: Leinster vs Bulls, March 29th, 7.35pm
Will the Bulls field at full strength against us on Friday? Jake white is the most experienced Coach in the URC, but even he will not have experienced the challenge of battling in two Competitions in different hemispheres over a 3 / 4 week timeframe. Bulls face Leinster next Friday in Dublin, follow...

Re: Zebre v Leinster Sat 23 March KO 7:35pm RTE2
Quite a lot of positives in that performance. Absolutely. The list is long. Deegan really should be pushing for a Europe spot, based on his performances this season, of which this was again good. You would think we would go 6:2 this week and again against Leicester. Particularly if Frawley is fit. ...

And the Play-off Semi-Finals are both in Ashbourne (neutral venue) which is an excellent idea. Monkstown v Thomondthe spoofer wrote: ↑March 11th, 2024, 10:31 am Bective fail to make the round robin this year. Monkstown win LL1A. It will be interesting to compare the strength of the 4 leagues.

And Bayonne clip the wings of 'the Great one' by 13 - 12 in Bayonne. LAR were not very impressive - although Bayonne is a hard place to win.

Re: 6 Nations (Women)
A very promising performance. You can see the changes that Scott Bemand and Declan Danagher have made to the organisation of the team, particularly in defence. We had a limited game plan that relied on our defence and a strong kicking game and it pretty much worked the way they wanted it to. We wou...

Connacht and Ulster both looked extremely ring-rusty defensively. The Munster & Leinster 'friendlies' are now looking like excellent management.

The Leinster performance against this Saracens combination should perhaps be viewed in a different light in the wake of Sarries demolishing Quins today by 52-7.

BBC match report here. Sounds like this was no fluke win but Tigers were missing Pollard.

Re: Zebre v Leinster Sat 23 March KO 7:35pm RTE2
Backline looking a bit threadbare. Interesting to see if Zebre have their internationals back. Ulster are starting Hendy and Big Stu. No real reason Ringrose, Larmour or Harry Byrne couldn't have played or benched fit. Well I'd imagine some of them were at Robbies wedding yesterday. None of our cur...

Re: Leicester v Leinster Sat 20th 3.15 TNT Sports
Tigers' pack certainly looks like a hard-nosed bunch. If they can get a good supply of front-foot ball, their returning England scrum-half, Van Poortvliet may enjoy a dream return after 8 months injury:

Re: Rumour Mill
The big question is who's going to Ulster. There is no way IRFU approved the BB move without having a decent 10 settled for Ulster. I'd imagine it's an outsider. Would Foley be too old? 35 in September. Will Ben and Jack follow their Dad north? Jack would be a great acquisition for them and alongsi...

With an eye on our ERC games, it may be interesting to keep an eye on the progress of LAR.
They play in Bayonne on Saturday with a 20.00 kick-off on Saturday. The following week they entertain Oyonnex at home on 30th March.

Tigers v Gloucester - Friday night @ 7.45 pm on TNT 1 should offer a reasonable preview of the Leicester side before our ERC meeting. As they're at home, I'd expect Tigers to field full-strength.

The atmosphere was incredible. Most packed I’ve ever seen Donnybrook for a Junior cup game. Must be an incredible experience for those lads playing in front of a crowd like that at such a young age. Cant think many kids that age around the world played in front of a crowd like that! Good contest wi...

Seems to be an interesting deal where the Stormers have had a controlling stake bought by Red Disa Consortium, an investment consortium made up of Fynbos Ekwiteit( South African Billionaire) and Ardagh Glass( Luxembourg based Irish Company). What makes the deal interesting is that Sexton and allege...

So farewell Leo, you may never have been loved as Taoiseach, but you were generally trusted. Above all, you've stepped away before the people got tired of you and when you believed you no longer had the enthusiasm to do the job to the best of your ability. As in national rugby, no Captain should ove...

I'd say the lads from the Irish team are all on the lash this week! It's a good thing to celebrate the victories. Let them at it. Forwards [1-8]: Milne, McKee, Clarkson, Jenkins, Molony, Connors, Penny, Deegan; Backs [9-15]: McGrath, R. Byrne, Russell, Osborne, Brownlee, Turner, McErlean; Subs [16-...
