Re: Pro 12 - General Thread

Not a follow-on but an aside. Glasgow, Ospreys, Sarries & Leinster are the core suppliers to the four countries in these islands. Three of them suffered embarrasing defeats when shorn of their front-liners this weekend. In contrast, Leinster delivered another five try, five point victory in Ital...

Re: Canada Test 12/11/16, 19:15

Olding isnt in the squad so TOH going to be there instead BIg call/selection is where the backrowers start. Youd imagine he wants POM and SOB in their regular positions but JOD the closest to a specialist 8 in there now (even if hes too light at present to be a genuine/regular international 8) and ...

Re: Coaching Ticket- Half Term Report

Enjoying the quality and depth of this discussion. One of the key elements is time. GD has worked with every one of the players who have come through this season, but particularly the backs. Many commentators, here and elsewhere, felt that our Academy "production line" had failed, or at le...

Re: Rumour Mill

Kite flying season is officially underway with Jame heaslip's CV "circulating" in France according to MO When you couple this "rumour" with announcement four hours later of IRB (World Rugby) Player of the Year Nominations, you've got to admire the business acumen / chuputz in ho...

Re: Canada Test 12/11/16, 19:15

Adding this group of players is very interesting as they will (probably) now be in Camp in Carton till end of match v Oz and thereby be involved in all aspects of preparation for not only the next three games, but also the 6N. That's how Joe builds a Squad. There maybe some squeals that some are dep...

Yep we only pass Wales. How the fock are we behind Wales? 3 beltings in Nz v a win in SA I swear there are times around here when it feels like you're talking to the wall!!! (And no that's not aimed specifically at you John- you just happened to write the post I'm responding to) Because New Zealand...

Re: Brexit & Rugby

Essentially, this Judgement explains that the Referendum was essentially a 'blunt' instrument whereas the underlying elements which give effect to the UK's membership are a range of Acts of Parliaments and International Agreements confirmed by Votes within the Houses of Parliaments. Based on the rea...

Re: Ireland heve beaten the All Blacks

The extraordinary aspect of this win is that there was nothing extraordinary about the performance. No 60m intercept try, no individual magic break, no dramatic last ditch tackle to keep them out. Each Irish player did yesterday what he has done on previous occasions. But they all did it. They all p...

Re: Ireland Team for ABs

The biggest dividend will be confidence to every player in the Irish Depth Chart and beyond. We have genuine competition in almost every position and every Irish qualified player will look at the performances in his numbered shirt tonight and believe he could have been there and done the job, if the...

You lads might need your passports to get through a hole in the border wall to come up to the Ulster match! Although it seemed clearcut at the time, (The Brexit Vote) the UK High Court Judgement today has fairly screwed-up this process. Reading through the detail in today's Judgement in Paragraph 1...

Re: Irish Depth Chart October 2016

In fairness it is hard to place players on a chart that is constantly changing. I did one of these a few years ago. Might be interesting to see how the names have changed. (Or not) 1/ http://forum.leinsterfans.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=22940&hilit=The+Ireland+Depth+Project.+Pt 2/ http://forum...

Re: Irish Depth Chart October 2016

You have Kearney as third choice fullback, Adelolokun as second choice right wing, O'Mahony as third choice blindside flanker (behind Ruddock), Donncha Ryan behind Roux & Dillane, Jordi Murphy/Dave Kearney/Bowe so far down the list and one or two odd placements. Am I misunderstanding the lists,...

Yet again UK Politicans amaze us in their capacity to make public statements without engaging their brains. The UK High Court decision today makes interesting reading and essentially confirms that the United Kingdom is a Parliamentary Democracy, not a Constitutional Democracy - essentially because i...

Re: Special Project Players

If the Players listed above are the best that we have by 2019, we will be delighted that they're Irish qualified because a lot of others that we hoped would come through or even improve on where they are now, will have fallen back.

If my aunt had balls etc..........
