Re: Ireland U20s 2023
I watched the Eng v Fra game. To my untutored eye the England back line looked pretty terrible, lots of dropped balls etc. The forwards were big as usual but not much more than that.
Anyone want to assess how they stack up against Ireland?

Re: 6 Nations 2023 - Ireland
I'm pleased for Ross. He has come on a lot over the past couple of seasons and deserves a shot. He has great hands, something which Kleyn definitely does not. Kleyn's handling much better this year than in the past. I would assume the 6 day turnaround mitigates against any play who has NOT been in ...

Re: Leinster Academy 22-23
This would be a very unwise decision if true. Munster currently have a very strong crop of talented senior backrowers along with the likes of Gleeson and Quinn in the pipeline. POM has at least 1 more year at Munster, but could well sign on for another 1 or even 2 years once his central contract ex...

Re: 6 Nations 2023 - The Other Teams
Atonio On that basis, the Committee applied World Rugby’s mandatory minimum mid-range entry point for foul play resulting in contact with the head. This resulted in a starting point of a six-week suspension. Having acknowledged there were no aggravating factors and mitigating factors including the ...

Re: 6 Nations 2023 - Ireland
Other than the result the most positive thing about the match was that all of the players where we may have had some doubts (at the start of the year) over them contributed really well. Does it mean they are perfect, no but great credit to Belham, McCloskey, R.Byrne, Casey, O'Toole & Killer (I k...

Re: Ireland U20s 2023
Writing off an u20 player after40 mins. Classy. Worse still, he was clearly carrying an injury. Ridiculous stuff. I do wonder if he was at a disadvantage as he's new into the system. I'm imagining that most of the rest were in varoius underage grades in prior years which gives them some contunity. ...

Re: Tighthead Prop going forward
Some serious tighthead talent in the underage ranks by the look of things: U20 Paddy McCarthy(Blackrock/DUFC) Ronan Foxe(Tullamore RFC/Old Belvedere) U19 Andrew Sparrow(St. Marys) Adam Daey(Tullow RFC/Lansdowne) U18 Alex Mullan(Blackrock) Riain Coogan(St. Michaels) Adam Watchorn(Kilkenny) Alex Mull...

Re: Grahamunster - Graham Rowntree's Munster 2022/2023
Whatever happened Bill Johnston? He was a nice footballer. I was actually thinking that any advancement by Ulster would have been impacted by how Johnston and Flannery have faired out after moving to Ulster. For me, both are extremely talented and exciting rugby players, both of who were probably u...

Re: Ospreys v Leinster Saturday 7th 19.35 TG4
Front row selection will be interesting. If we decide we can’t risk Mike, because Furlong is still injured, who starts and who benches? Milne, McKee, Vakh (Molony and Deeny behind) would be quite an ask for an away game against a form team. They’ve a strong tight five, full of internationals, depen...

Re: Racing in Le Harve
Beware of Greeks bearing gifts, I reckon Travers would love another crack at us later in the season. They never got out of 3rd gear / weren't allowed to get out of 3rd gear. Hype balloon needs to be managed / deflated somewhat. A stodgy try scoring bonus point with 4 maul tries from the lineout on ...

Someone tell me that Chile were missing 10 players. If not the RWC is going to be very tough for them.

Re: Leinster v Chile
He started in DUFC as a backrow and has been converted to tighthead. Probably 22 or 23. Highly regarded by Smeeth. I wouldnt be surprised if he was to be picked up, especially as Vadk has declared for Georgia

Re: Grahamunster - Graham Rowntree's Munster 2022/2023
Edogbo does looks fantastic and has done in every game he’s played, he’s athletic but also a workhorse, hard not to like that type of guy. Hopefully he can stay injury free, If himself and Tom Ahern stay injury free, it looks like a 2nd row pairing that will be as good as you will find in any club ...

No quality place kicker in the Boks 23.
8 of the Boks forwards (6 starters & 2 subs) were on the team that lost in 2017 (all be it with the worst coach ever).

Re: Ireland A vs New Zealand XV Friday 4th November
I really hope Loughman and O'Toole have really good games. Loughman has had a good start to the season. WenNeed some quality coming through here before the RWC. Not convinced with Killer or Marty will do that. The only other wild card is if Jack McGrath, following his injuries & operations was a...
