Unreal.
My heart has only slowed down now.
Some incredible defence. D'arcy's tackle was pretty damn good on Fofana at the end. Fofana came like a train and D'arcy did some unreal work to make it hard for him to place the ball.

Re: Clermont - The Game
Schmidt has never once picked the "expected" team. Who would have seen Kev being moved to the bench? (I avoid using the word dropped on purpose!) AS others have said, he has picked a team of people who enjoy carrying close in (Healy over Heike is another selection nodding in that direction...

Re: Clermont - The Game
This match is killing me already. The fact I'm not going makes it worse! I always find the logistics of going to the game can take my mind off the nerves of the game itself. My thoughts the cross kicking: If they reckon that kicking ball to a back 3 of Luke but especially Isa and Rob is their ticket...

Re: Pro12 Semi Final
From a selfish point of view, better not be Friday! I have 2 exams on friday, 1 on Saturday at 9am. So what better way to celebrate than a semi final game 200 yards away from the exam hall?! Got my ticket there, assume we will get actual paper tickets? or do we have to print? €20.70 for a terrace dw...

Re: Leinster v Scarlets
No mention of Leo Auvas contribution anywhere. I thought he was great when he came on for 2nd half. Carried verry well and across the gainline on at least a couple of occasions. Is he being underrated? I thought so too. One notable carry and neat offload to Kev stood out for me. Think he has taken ...

Re: Leinster v Montpellier
While that defensive effort was monumental. Montpellier did make it easier by being very one dimensional! Basically was just pick and go using gorgodze as much as possible. Not even a token effort to use the backs. Other notes, thought Hagan did well in his 40 minutes. solid in the scrum mostly (got...

Re: Cardiff V Leinster
not to go OT but people forget that at age 22, D'arcy was still strictly a back 3 player. e.g. http://www.leinsterrugby.ie/matchcentre ... &fixid=993
and a relatively light one at that (albeit with unreal core strength for his size)~

Re: 11 October 1997
What a generation of players. (and they are not finished yet!)
those 3 were part of what attracted a 12 y/o utility back to the game of rugby on those nights in the Brook! Of course, back in those days, Shaggy played centre and D'arcy played wing.

Re: Leinster V Glasgow
Looking forward to seeing EOM in a first choice team. Think he is very good at making space for others. Be lovely to see SOB running off him a few times further away from the breakdown. Kev has obviously been picked for lineout, the amount of times Leinster put him at 2 as a "banker" is un...

I agree with whoever said it above. He just wanted to squash the statements and get them forgotten about, but his outright denial it was leinster (preceeded by McGuinness-esque question dodging) didn't look so hot.

Said it on the international thread, but think D'arcy in 03 or Heaslip/Bowe/Kearney in 07.Hickiefan wrote:Agreed. We will be delighted to have him but am gutted for the lad. Believe it will spur him on to rediscover his best form.
