Re: 6N Ireland Wales - Dublin 2:15pm Sat 24 Feb

Maybe, for the sake of the Irish team, as is so often quoted as a reason for moving a player, Stockdale should move to Leinster. I know you're joking, but I was thinking the same thing at the weekend. He's been mostly fit for a season and a half now, he starts all the time, and has scored 7 tries t...

Re: Ulster 2023/24

While I agree that McFarland is a dead man walking, basing an article on what fans are saying on twitter (even reasonable ones like one of those quoted) is hardly the basis for, well, anything. You could write an article on why Farrell must go based on tweets if you were so inclined. Yep bang on. Y...

Re: 6N Ireland Wales - Dublin 2:15pm Sat 24 Feb

One thing that hasn't been commented on about the updated squad announcement is Ross Byrne not being brought back in. If he was actually our #2 he'd be straight back in. Performance at the weekend was a bit ropey though and I'd say he might not fall back down the Irish pecking order despite being Le...

Re: Leinster Squad 23-24

Milne wont be the only senior contracted leinster player to move to Munster this summer. A classic post! Specific enough to make people think you might have some behind the scenes info (cogged from some other forum!), but vague enough to not give any real information besides a big unsourced predict...

Re: 6 Nations 2024

Mitchell out for 2 months is a big loss for England and also for Saints, who play Munster in Europe.

Re: New contracts for coaching ticket

Isa, Isa, Isa Fingers crossed Well they had a printed picture of him in the window of the coaches box, right in front of Andrew Goodman, at the game at the weekend. I'm taking that as a hint public confirmation on their part. Saw an interview with Isa a couple of years ago where he said that he'd l...

Re: New contracts for coaching ticket

Interesting tidbit in the IT yesterday: “We’ve had lots of good conversations, some excellent internal people, guys that are very connected to Leinster as well and some external people as well.” Leo Cullen on Leinster’s search to find a new attack coach to replace Andrew Goodman, who will join the ...

Re: Leinster Squad 23-24

Now *that* is a textbook example of cherrypicking data! I thought so. A fairly full and lengthy debate that ignores simply counting how many players there are when comparing squads. Munster have too many looseheads, we have too many looseheads. Our standard of loosehead is generally higher. Despite...

Re: Leinster Squad 23-24

I made a point at the start of the season that we weren't going to keep Byrne and Milne. Too good to keep them both as depth players and probably too expensiv e, especially if Healy chooses to do another season. Good depth is expensive. I still feel that's true. That's a key point being missed here...

Re: Leinster Squad 23-24

Why would Milne back himself to compete with Loughman is he's running away from competing with Byrne? That's a disingenuous question and an attempt at inflaming the debate ('running away' ) as everyone reading it knows, but let me answer it in a sincere way. Because Ed Byrne is Leinster's thi...

Re: 6N Ireland Wales - Dublin 2:15pm Sat 24 Feb

How come we aren't getting a load of articles about the lack of atmosphere at the Dublin V Roscommon game? Hmmm. While I agree the shite about the Aviva atmosphere is tedious, comparing a 6N game to an Allianz League game is a bit ridiculous. Atmosphere for big meaningful GAA games is way better th...

Re: Leinster Squad 23-24

I think it's fairly obvious Dave Kilcoyne is done, and Michael Milne rightly sees himself comfortably ahead of Josh Wycherley right now. He's basically going down there to compete with Jeremy Loughman for the starting #1 jersey, and he'd be right to back himself in that fight I think. Yep, that's t...

Re: Leinster Squad 23-24

Munster have 3 senior looseheads (2 internationals usually outside matchday squads with everyone fit) and 3 academy looseheads. Leinster have 4 senior looseheads (2 internationals who make every 23) and 2 academy looseheads. 2 of those players have switched to tighthead for some games in the last y...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

One little bit of Darces contribution I really enjoyed was when Ross kicked out on the full. He spoke about how he liked the decision and that it was a slight mistake in execution and that Leinster would always examine those sort of outcomes under three headings: Principle - does it fit with what w...

Re: Leinster Squad 23-24

It's pretty arrogant to be to be 'convinced' that you know better than the actual player who's making the decision I think. I don't know better than the player, I know better than you. And we're both arrogant at times. The lack of self awareness needed to write that is pretty funny I must say!

Nobody said they knew better than the player. Regardless of what the player knows, I'm convinced that leaving to Munster...

Re: Leinster Squad 23-24

Someone will eventually succeed. None have yet. And they should have, there were very some very talented players with bright futures who were poached. No one is arguing that Leinster should keep all their players. That's a straw man. People aren't irrational just because they don't agree with you. ...
