Re: A whiff of Cordite

Well I think that definitively proves that the signing of Jenkins was the right thing to do. I suspect Munster would rather surgically cut Ahern’s hamstrings than let him go to Leinster You used the exact same terminology few a years ago. Hmmmm Also, last night on off the ball They used my joke, wh...

Re: Pro 14 Final vs Munster, March 27th. 5pm. @ The RDS.

Interestingly in light of all the giving out on the Munster fans forum about the myriad of Leinster high tackles, that Adamson, Neville et all supposedly missed or ignored, that I have seen no mention, either in the social media or the press, of the high tackling by Munster, which accompanied the di...

Cat amongst the pigeons time. Players going to other provinces with the guarantee of game time seems to hinder their development. To be fair, the one muppet, who suggested Joy Neville not seeing this, that or the other Leinster trangression was down to her having gone "into labour", was called up on it very smartly by the others. A big row developed out of it, with Muppet a haon trying to say it was just a joke, like...

Re: Pro 14 Final vs Munster, March 27th. 5pm. @ The RDS.

Absolutely thrilled with that. Was afraid with 6-6 at half-time, Munster would have a purple patch in the second 40. For our lads to go out and put 10-0 on them in the second half, starting off with an orgy of pick and jam from the pack was fabulous. Our attack might have misfired a few times this e...

All the talk about "closing the gap" and Munster's "new generation" is total seafóid, IMO. The squad van Graan has picked for tomorrow isn't particularly different to the teams he's sent out against us since the covid-induced restart. Where are all the young Munster buckaroos? On...

Even if it had been one sentence in an epic the length of War and Peace I would have pulled you up on that.
LOL!!! I stand corrected! Jawohl! (klicks his heels together).

Seriously though, I'd hate our rivalry with the Southern cousins to descend into Old Firm b*%&!x! I love us putting one over on Munster, but I like beating the likes of Saracens, Toulouse, Toulon, Clermont even more. Whenever Leinster get knocked out of the Heino I want one of the provinces to win it, - bragging rights or not.

The one and only time I was down in Thomond Park a teenage Munster fan sitting beside me in the stand at half time shared some of his toffees with me. I have a look in to the Red Army forum occasionally and most of the references to Leinster and our players are balanced. Sure they're envious, but they're able to acknowledge what our lot have gotten right and look to emulate it.

I don't find it easy to be cheering the likes of Earlsy, Murray etc. for Ireland one week and be supposed to "hate" them the next. I don't want to hate any of them, if the truth be told, even if some of them can be a tad annoying - particularly Conway, Mr. Angry Face, James Cronin and the prodigal son, Zeebs.

I had an interesting moment, after we lost the Magner's to Munster down there in 2011. I was watching the post-match on de telly, feeling more than a little deflated. The Munster lads were getting ready for the trophy presentation when RO'G - who at the time I couldn't stand cos of the whole number 10 mess at Ireland with Kidney - ran over to the side of the pitch and then returned pushing a wheelchair with one of the Munster coaching staff, who had some debilitating disease and would die shortly afterwards, in it. Watching O'Gara and the trouble he went to make his unfortunate friend feel an integral part of the whole celebration, putting him in the front row and carefully position his wheelchair for the group photo, all I could feel was admiration.

For sure I want the BIB to absolutely smadder the turnips tomorrow. I'm confident, that we have enough fire power to overcome whatever they throw at us. If they get the luck of the green however and manage to win, I won't be tearing my hair out. In contrast however, should we lose to Toulon, Exeter or any other team in the course of this season's "drive for five" I will be!!!!

Certainly the Munster team, we can expect on Saturday, should pose a greater threat than we've been accustomed to from them in recent years. I wouldn't begrudge them a win to end their ongoing trophy drought. If it were a choice between winning another Pro 14 title and winning the Heino, I know whic...

Somehow I don't think what Genge said would amount to an admission of guilt on any planet that has invented sarcasm.
