Re: 6N Ireland Wales - Dublin 2:15pm Sat 24 Feb

As BR8 says TOT should be rightly cheesed off; from what I've seen he's much better than OJ. He's been good in the tight, and has demonstrated (in tests) good speed, and hands, and decision making. Lets see how Ollie goes - good luck to him. Are we going to call him OJ? "Major Dad" for me...

Jager is an interesting call.
Poor Finlay.
Great to see Church getting another cap hopefully.

Re: Saracens vs Leinster, 23rd of Feb

Would people watch this over the u20s 6 Nations game? Mightn't be a popular opinion but I'd be more interested in seeing how that Leinster backline gets on than the u20s. Plus it will be easy to get a full match stream for the u20s on Saturday or Sunday The U20s are on terrestial TV. So, what I wou...

Re: 6N Ireland Wales - Dublin 2:15pm Sat 24 Feb

I don't get why we'd go 6-2 on the bench. Removes the need to give a difficult message to one of Baird, Ryan or Conan though. Why would they need a difficult message? They've hardly dragged their feet when they've been given an opportunity to play. Have you ever been dropped? (from a team that is) ...

Re: 6N Ireland Wales - Dublin 2:15pm Sat 24 Feb

I can't understand how Stockdale remains in camp.I suppose it's a real lack of options. Earls and Conway have retired. Hansen and Jimmy O'Brien are injured. Three of those four were in the RWC23 squad, and the exception [Conway] was a Farrell regular before the knee injury that ended his career. We...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

To play devil's advocate, are we happy to keep guys in the squad who are happy to be third and fourth fiddle despite being good enough to be lead violin? Is that lack of personal and professional ambition a good thing? Is someone willing to play that role not someone we should really be moving on? ...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

Leinster's URC level is usually higher than most teams Investec Cup level. Players don't need to move to play a higher level of rugby, they're already there. The pundits who complain about the strength of our squad are pretty much admitting the same thing in a different way. Leinster just played a ...

It wasn't about you in any way, why would you think it is? Their product killed a lot of people. They knew about the dangers and then both didn't make it clear to the people installing it and allowed them to purchase it when it was going to be used in an unsafe way. They got off lightly enough beca...

Re: Ulster 2023/24

Flannels and his team showed a total lack of awareness of what was required to close out a win.
Twice not once the high risk option was chosen when the the low risk option was likely to achieve a good result.

It's that origin thing the URC are running this weekend I think - players allowed to wear their club socks etc. Obviously that's the club Rhys chose to nominate. Makes my username both more and less obscure at the same time 🤦‍♂️ You are merely the socks of another forum member.... A mere simp...

Re: 6 Nations 2024

Paddy Power has us at 1/6 to win 6N's but interestingly they have us at 22 point favourites to beat Wales. That's huge. I think we'll do a number on Wales. I think that this is one of the worst Welsh teams I have seen in a long, long time – twenty years or so. I've been shocked that they have been ...

Re: 6 Nations 2024

I'm exceptionally wary of Wales. Gatland, who is, let us not forget, the most experienced and successful coach in the competition, has taken Wales from where they were 12 months ago - an utter shambles that makes Ulster look like the All Blacks run by Tim Cook - to being competitive (P2 L2, but wit...

If I was giving Faz and Casey one bit of advice.
It's a 15 man game stop trying to win it on your own.
Faz being the messenger and Casey being the messengee.

Re: 6 Nations 2024

Watching the rugby this weekend I really do wonder why the TMO doesn't get involved in Jackal calls with hands on the floor. Makes no sense to me why the Referee can't just say that's a penalty, the TMO will quickly check if there was hands on the floor or not. I understand that we don't want the T...

Re: 6N: France Ireland - Marseille Fri 8pm 2 Feb 2024

I’d go full switch. Belham, Kelleher and Healy in the front row. Henderson and Ryan in the second row. Conan to 8, Baird to 6, moving POM to 7. Rest Beirne for the week- but bench JVF and Doris. Maybe bring Will Connors into the squad. Play Casey with his Munster buddy at 9. Stick with Aki and Hens...
