Re: Climate Change.
My point OS is that individuals changing habits is mere window dressing in the grand scheme of things. Carbon credits for example are a corporate shell game that allows the likes of Google to state that they are carbon neutral... they are not. They purchase carbon credits from 3rd world countries t...

Re: Climate Change.
I get all of that. However, who uses their products. Absolving the individual from responsibility isn't the answer either. Next time you fill up your car just think to yourself, I'm supporting one of those 20 companies. I don't see any reason why the individual can't be expected to contribute. You ...

Re: Climate Change.
The Montreal Protocol was tough but a lot easier and a lot clearer. It was a few chemicals with feasible replacements and involved a switch. CO2 is a proxy for heat and electrical power, along with materials like cement, fertilizer and plastic. There's no easy fix like switching from petrol to dies...

Re: Climate Change.
There are going to be a lot of solutions but how about getting the low hanging ones into play straight away. 1. Adjust timers to come on even fifteen minutes later than usual and off a similar amount earlier. 2. Empty the car of any extraneous junk. 3. Unplug or at the very least power off applicat...

Re: Friday's rant
Drivers, why not use the handbrake when stopped at lights rather than keeping your foot on the brake pedal? That way you won't dazzle the driver in the car behind you! Thanking you in advance... You're too close  I like to pop it into reverse for a while at lights to ensure I have the atte...

Michael Ala'alatoa
I have been impressed with Ala'alatoa so far. He isn't monstering opposition looseheads in the scrum, but he is locking them out and setting a decent platform for the set piece. He has a really sweet pass on him wasn't shy to act as scrum half in the opener against the Bulls and sent a lovely 6-8m p...

Re: Rumour Mill
Sure, you really can see Irish players wanting to sign up to the English Premiership, given the state of that country. Or maybe they'll choose France where they can play 25 plus games a season and watch Ireland play in a foreign language. Somehow, with the prospect of being involved, at last, in a ...

Jack Dunne looking large today at training https://www.sportsfile.com/winshare/w540/Library/SF1246/2091593.jpg Really want to see Dunne and Baird progress this season. I think they struggle to find a way into the game if they haven't pulled up a tree or two in their first 15 on the pitch. For Dunne...

Re: Friday's rant
Player ratings. Utterly f*cking stupid. Just saw an article for driver ratings at the Baku F1 race at the weekend. Seriously, driver ratings? Is that not the race result? Not always no For example, Verstappen drove a flawless race until, through no fault of his own, his tyre gave way and caused him...

Re: The Leinster Front Row preview 2021/22
A propos of nothing, this discussion is about a chap who has one start, lasting 46 minutes, 5 years ago, as a senior professional loosehead. Carry on. And at the time it was his provincial specialist coach, that pushed for the move across. That same coach now happens to be Porter's current internat...

You spake, the RFU heard! https://www.rte.ie/sport/rugby/2021/0511/1220982-rfu-decides-to-ditch-saxons-in-interests-of-diversity/ I’m a bit surprised by this one to be honest. Unlike Swing Low, I hadn’t heard any complaints about it. Good thing we don’t play in the “Celtic League” anymore Interesti...

Re: Enforcer Second-Row Options
Last thing I’d say and I’ve just realised this is the wrong thread. The kicking game could’ve tested them more. Its hard to tell on tv, but it looked like Rog had them defend narrow in order to win contact and breakdown thereafter. Lowe nearly got on the end of a great Byrne cross kick. I think the...

First a drugs cheat and now a racist. He'd certainly wear the jersey with 'pride and honesty' alright. The latter was a long long time ago. People can learn the err of their ways and grow. I don't think I would have given a good or even fair account of myself if social media existed back then. Did ...
