Re: Cardiff Away, March 2nd
So we don't want players to make impacts off the bench? Why not play the game with 15 then? Making an impact off the bench is not the same as 'come off the bench and change the game'. I don't want to have a debate about the definition of words if I'm honest. The point was that having a 9 come off t...

Re: Cardiff Away, March 2nd
All that said he still isn't trusted in tight games to come off the bench, that's either a management or a personnel problem considering scrum half is the one position in the backs where you'd want a sub whos primed to come on at 60 minutes and change the game. Need to develop some depth there cons...

Re: Cardiff Away, March 2nd
It's going to be really hard for any of the next gen 9s to make their mark. Gibbos the Irish 9 and one of the best int he world and McGrath is a 200 capper and sometime captain. His injury layoff earlier in the season was their window and tbh I don't think anyone really jammed it open. it shouldnt ...

Re: 6 Nations 2024
If Willemse got four, three is probably an acceptable outcome for Danty. Willemse should have got eight though and multiple recidivist Danty… Danty got 5 - with a potential for it to be 4 with tackle school (meaning he's back for Stormers away) Surely already done the tackle school? I was under the...

He started off bound to the centre, once he was no longer bound to him he was offside and had to retreat behind the hindmost foot. He didn't, that's a penalty He switched his bind to no.6, who was the ball carrier, and who was prevented from grounding the ball by Beirne who was offside. That's a pe...

Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens
It's pie in the sky. They have in their hoop got funding for a 28k stadium lined up. I wouldn't trust them either. They could see the URC as a way to get away from the CVC deal before re joining the a CVCless GP.

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????
On the surface this is a bit odd. I think that's fair enough for POM as Ireland skipper. Don't know what happened behind the scenes with the negotiations but the optics from outside looked awful with the Ireland captain starting a campaign without a signed deal. Our skipper should always have a dea...

Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens
probably worth adding that the CEO of the URC helped Wasps get a new home. Martin Anayi, the CEO of the URC who lives in Kent, confirmed that he had been instrumental in helping Wasps to find a prospective new home not just in his county, but also in the league that he runs. “I’ve had conversations...

Re: A whiff of Cordite
Am I right in thinking that Ireland can’t play test matches outside the Aviva? IIRC it was part of the naming rights deal with Aviva Don't feel bad about not knowing that. The Thomond Park redevelopment committee didn't know about it either* and were certain that they could get a few Ireland full i...

Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens
I'm pretty certain ANY league who looks at Wasps joining would have some sort of guarantees about liquidity etc. before entertaining them, so I don't see how the URC or other teams would be exposed. The wasps debt, which was huge, didn't pull down the premiership or any other teams. It may increase...

Re: Aviva Premiership: something exciting happens
Wonderful!?!? They walked away with £95 million of debt, not long after proclaiming themselves as the "richest club in world rugby". Then they expect to be parachuted back into the championship because they have a plan to build a stadium in Kent, which involves taking on more massive debt...

Our Lock options are truly in good health at the moment. 11 tackles from Ryan in the short time he was on the pitch is some return when you consider the highest was Doris with 19. I noticed this and contrasted it to Big Joe who had 8 tackles in 53 versus Ryan's 11 in 23 mins (53'-76'). Beirne racke...

When you call out the players and they respond like that........He could well be a bit "Jose Mourinho" with the 3rd season syndrome kicking in.

There's a big clearout coming at Racing.Observingprop123 wrote: ↑February 24th, 2024, 10:00 pm Lancasters Racing losing again at Home. Doesn't seem to be going well after an initially being at the top of the table. Wonder if these results could possibly lead to a sacking for him.

Re: 6 Nations 2024
If England play as badly as that against Ireland we could put 40 on them. Fair play to Scotland they got over the line but England are a shambles. I visit england often and bump into George now and again out walking his dog (I have a property near his place). We're on nodding terms, if you know wha...
