Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2
Jaysus the ROG bashing is very tiresome on here, we get it lads! Its not as if ROG is a shrinking violet. He brings the attention on himself. We need to stop giving oxygen to him and the turnip loving, O’Gara fan boys in the media. I cut my subs to the 42 and the Indo due to their hysterical worshi...

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2
I hope it's not just wishful thinking on my part but I can't help feeling that the LAR decision to come to Ireland so early in the week is an error in judgment by ROG. Playing the Munster card, parading the LAR team around the place, seeking Irish press coverage etc. Far from playing mind games, it...

Re: 6 Nations 2024
This is the unanswered question. We need to know. According to the official Guinness fantasy rugby stats, Billy Billy didn't touch the ball once v England and only made one tackle - not very impressive stats for someone who played 80 minutes in a back line that ran a lot of ball. He cost me money!!...

Re: England v Ireland Saturday 9th March 2024 4.45pmTwickenham
The Irish team will be as expected, possibly Ringrose to come onto the bench with a 6-2 split. More interesting will be the English selection. Marcus Smith is back fit, his selection or lack-of will say a lot about how England want to play, also if they stick with Furbank at fullback. Personally, I ...

I really hope Gleeson keeps in the upward trajectory, sensational potential. I think long term Doris could move to 7.
6. Baird
7. Doris
8. Gleeson
I like the look of Rudhan Quinn too.

Re: 6 Nations 2024
I remember listening to Andrew Huberman talk about how to manage dopamine levels, he goes into depth on the subject in one of his podcasts. One thing that always stuck with me was his point about celebrating wins, and that the celebration should always match the achievement otherwise your dopamine l...

Re: Irish U20s 2024
I only saw snippets of last nights game, but it seems to me that a few lads are getting picked on reputation only at this stage .... O'Connor, Spicer and Sheahan have been singularly unimpressive over the 2 games so far in my opinion Good Lord. Let me be clearer in the hope it'll allow you to engag...

Absolutely blessed with that draw if we're being honest. Why was I under the impression this was on every two years?

You can see the potential with Spicer, he had a couple of nice passes and some nice takes in the line-out, but he's very out of shape.

Re: 6 Nations 2024
Both Thornley and Ruaidhri O'Connor were in Portugal for the training camp. A pretty clear two fingers to RO'C in particular that GT was gifted the 23 to run with from the evening before the official announcement. Others will also be miffed too but those two papers provide the most rugby content to...

So pissed off with whoever is running the IRFU site, they don't even have the positions for the u20s. The senior stats are about 7 years old.

Re: 6 Nations 2024
To me - it would be a big mistake for us to go with a Beirne - POM - Doris back row, to try and counter French size. There's a real lack of pace and dynamism in carrying and linespeed there from both flankers IMO. They're both good players, but at this point you're not playing either in their best ...

Re: 6 Nations 2024
How do you get Joe McCarthy into the team? His most probable number is 19, but even at that it means dropping either Beirne, Ryan, Henderson or POM from the match day squad, all seem to be fully fit going into the championship.

Re: 6 Nations 2024
The IRFU website has published some shady weight statistics. Some of the glaringly wrong ones I've seen:
Joe McCarthy - 112kg
James Ryan - 107kg
Andrew Porter - 125kg
Cian Healy - 110kg
Ryan Baird - 104kg

Re: Leinster Academy 23-24
Interesting to see Andrew Osborne playing at thirteen. Strange to see Cormac Izuchukwu playing in these games as a soon to be 24 year old who has 17 Ulster appearances. Sean Edogbo on the bench is also interesting to see. Guessing he's a cert for Munster Academy admission this season so. Edogbo Jnr...

I'm quoting what you said. TOB is absolutely international class. Not for me. Neither was McFadden. Neither was Terry Kennedy. Paul Kennedy. Dick Spring. Don Whittle. Jack Clarke. Billy Burns. All were capped. None were international class. For me. If we are capping sub-par players we will be a sub...

Re: Ireland U20s 2023
Surely they saw him in training and done enough to impress them before being selected. I highly doubt they were just sold on his ability because ROG said so. Unless there was some political motivation involved about getting him into the Irish system to claim him ahead of the French and Saffas. I don...
