suppose AJ McGinty would count as well, though it wasn’t like there was much a clamour for him to get a place at the time.Diomedes wrote: ↑April 2nd, 2024, 3:01 pmJager?LeinsterLeader wrote: ↑April 1st, 2024, 4:00 pm What's Leinsters record for guys they've passed on for Academy places going elsewhere and getting full contracts? M. Walsh 9. Lindner / Coffey 10. Clancy 11. Reddan 12. White 13. 14. J O’Sullivan 15. Always interesti...

Re: Schools Rugby 23/24
Despite the result I was still very impressed with quite a few of the Michael’s pack, Coogan, Walsh etc.

JCT Semi-Final St Mary's College 20 - 5 St Michael's College An all Dublin 6 final, first time in 27 years! Underdogs won both semi's this year. Terenure and St Mary's have only met twice previously in a JCT Final. St Mary's won both in 1971 (after a replay) and 1997 Great to see someone other than...

Re: Leinster Academy 23-24
Does seem a bit random that they had Doris spend a year (16/17) in the sub academy yet signed those players straight after school

Re: Schools Rugby 23/24
Always thought that it was incredibly harsh on the players from that year in Michael’s not letting them play because they didn’t want to distract from the Senior’s preparation.

Re: Schools Rugby 23/24
Really think the final will be a 50/50 call.
Blackrock having quite a few players (6?) with experience in a final from last year could help.

Re: Leinster Academy 23-24
Given the level of depth, I would expect the other provinces to come sniffing around some of the front 5 players offering them academy places.
Suppose that happens every year but feels like there’s quite a lot of legit prospects at those positions

Re: Schools Rugby 23/24
He would have been pretty handy to be able come of the bench last year to spell either Mullan or O’Riordan.
Not sure what the injury was that kept him out of the cup.

Re: Schools Rugby 23/24
Not sure which one is the paper of note but it’s in the online version of the Indo and IT (albeit using the same chatbot writer that the leinster website uses)
The write up in the Examiner (Daire Walsh) actually describes a game of rugby rather than a stream random events with no context.
