Re: Heineken Cup 2021/22

Heino final and Champs League final on the same saturday night is not a first. But the same day and same country surely is? I know France is a big country but having 100,000+ people all coming to your country for the same weekend trip has got to put pressure on anyones infrastructure, especially wh...

Re: Heineken Cup 2021/22

Great. Another opportunity for the Irish media to make this all about Munster. :D Prendergast as incoming backs coach for Munster. Whoever won, it wouldn't have changed much. Anyway going to push the Denis Leamy angle for the Munster fans. Sure it be nice to have a recent Heineken Cup winning Coach...

Re: Munster Rugby 2021/2022 - Search for the Holy Grail

I thought the Munster midfield was poor too, a good break by Farrell for the try but I can't remember much else and they were destroyed defensively. I think going toe to toe with Toulouse has skewed some people's perceptions of the performance, the reality is that turnovers and poor discipline were...

Ye should be more annoyed about Johnny Watterson only putting Leinster down as winning the competition three times since 2008.

Re: Heineken Cup Dates 2022/23

There probably isn’t much they can do about it but the first two rounds clash with the business end of the World Cup so it’s likely to start with a whimper. World Cup is in September/October no? FIFA World Cup Nov/Dec 2022 No Premier League/Champions League or European top tier leagues. BT will pro...

Thought Conway was set to be back. Would have been a big addition. Zebo may produce a moment of magic and is an efficient finisher but would be worried about him on the defensive side.

Yep, he was the subject of some - lets be kind about this - 'intense scrutiny' from OTB. Grobler served a doping ban from 2014-2016 and Ger and the boys decided it was up to them to get justice. Ah, thought his name rang a bell alright. As Bill O'Herlihy used to say........ "We'll leave it the...

Can yiz not have it in PUC; sell the place out and make a bundle of cash for yerselves and the GAA?
Some guy called Ed Sheeran doing some concerts means that can't happen.

Re: A whiff of Cordite

This morning on Off the Ball was as expected onky focused on Munster when it came to the four provinces in action over the weekend. In fairness to Alan Quinlan, he was being dictated what to focus on by the sneering Ger Gilroy.

If Johnny played in Paris we would have the Slam now.

I feel that the scoreboard doesn’t reflect how well Treviso played, however, as is all too common for Italian teams, they ran out of puff in the last 20 mins. At least you were able to see the scoreboard for this one. Everyone struggling to make anything out from it in Musser during daytime matches...

Re: Men's Six Nations 2022

It sometimes surprises me when people call for experimentation during the 6N Championship, seeming to reduce the significance of the competition in its own right. Just a reminder for readers of the relevance, even in the most basic aspect, I.e. monetary reward, in 2022: 1st Place: €6m 2nd Place: €3...

Re: Heineken Cup 2021/22

Us v Connacht in the round of 16 then. Second leg at 'home'. Would be mad, but I wonder might the IRFU try to bring *both* legs to the Aviva? Two guaranteed 50k+ crowds would be a big boost for all coffers. Don't think they'd sell it out... Certainly not twice Sent from my LE2123 using Tapatalk Two...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

Hugh Cahill on the RTE podcast doesn't seem to have an ounce of common sense. Whether it about the Munster coaching setup for rest of season or happily gloating about seeking a six week booze up festival in London should his own authorities recommend restrictions that may impact feasibilityof hostin...

I think we're being a bit picky, but technically it is County Carlow FC and Clontarf FC - both predate the IRFU They love the county as it really annoys Tullow! Almost everything about CCFC annoys Tullow. Except when they nearly went bankrupt. That didn't annoy them  The nearly part is what re...

Re: Munster Rugby 2021/2022 - Search for the Holy Grail

Huge Cahill does seem to come from the Ger Canning style of commentary where a half decent kick or play is consistently described as huge. And of course Munster players weren't just but 'super super'. Despite continually crying about horrible and terrible the match was it came across like these were...
