Re: Lions v Leinster - Sat 20 April, 14.00 - RTE2

When you look at the bench 16-21, there is not much of a drop-off and in fact a serious impact in many cases. Hopefully nobody is too badly affected by altitude. On another note, for the statos, when was Healy's last start, and how many has he had this season? I would really love it if he got a cha...

Paddy Power still have the Lions as 4 point favourites for this. I am famously rubbish at gambling but that seems a mad price for Leinster?

Re: Leinster move to Aviva Stadium for 24/25

Hmmm If I (20 something years sth) want to sit beside my wife (not sure but certainly 15 yrs+ STH) at a match next season, according to my reading of the FAQs, then one of us has to drop our individual season ticket, buy two on the same account, and when the RDS re-opens, then that person "wou...

Re: Lions v Leinster - Sat 20 April, 14.00 - RTE2

WHILE SOME OF their supporters agitate over the structural status quo in Irish provincial rugby, the provinces themselves have important business at hand on the pitch in the next few days. After the excitement and dejection of the Champions Cup and Challenge Cup over the past fortnight, it’s back t...

Re: Lions v Leinster - Sat 20 April, 14.00 - RTE2

Murray Kinsella has a bit of a Quickening of his own - albeit only focused on the provinces. He does include the following interesting line - not unexpected I suppose. https://the42.ie/6357093 They have yet to officially confirm the squad they’ve brought to South Africa, but some front-liners have b...

Re: New contracts for coaching ticket

I think we did about 75-80 mins on Leinster. We talked about discussing the Connacht and Ulster games, but they were really disappointing performances and we didn't want to go on and on about how poorly they had performed. A lot of the time we would have been repeating ourselves from recent podcast...

Re: New contracts for coaching ticket

Yes, seems like a very good signing. Outhalves and inside centres have a head start in coaching on most other players. A lot of the decisions about how and where the game is won and lost go through them and they have to have an analytical cast to their thinking. He has always come across as a decen...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

Looks very light to only travel with 5 props, when one of them is Jager who is just a few weeks post knee surgery. The decision to release Keynan Knox mid-year looks increasingly baffling, and the only conclusion on Academy THP Darragh McSweeney must be that they don't rate him at all. Knox require...

Re: Jordi Barrett to sign for Leinster

It's actually not particularly fair on Munster or Ulster. They need help more, but we have a stronger case to that we'll get a return on the investment. If the IRFU gave Munster an extra million euros, what could they do with it. Is that enough? Agree with this. Jackman was talking about the potent...

Re: Leinster Squad 23-24

In the same way as Mike was signed to facilitate Porter moving across, I can't imagine Jordie Barrett doesn't also come with the proviso of losing a Frawley and/or Harry to Ulster and Munster possibly neither looked like they were moving at the weekend. Agreed - which makes the signing more bonkers.

Re: Leinster Squad 23-24

Jordie only expected to stay until end of next season. any talk of players leaving? Heard murmurs of Charlie Ngatai which would make sense. In the same way as Mike was signed to facilitate Porter moving across, I can't imagine Jordie Barrett doesn't also come with the proviso of losing a Frawley an...

Re: European Champions Cup 23/24

Why would you travel for the URC but not Investec? Travel is a problem and it's come up here, but they've gone a long way to keep the wolf from the door of a wounded competition. Losing to Leinster puts pressure on their last URC games. If they win all of those, good chance they are top seed and ho...

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2

Tadgh Furlong could be our most important player tomorrow, the 2 LAR loose head props are 21 year old Penverne age 21, 6:2, 111kg and Kaddouri aged 20, 6:2, 114kg. They both played against Ireland Under 20’s last July and have played very little for LAR. The Tongan hooker Latu is 31 and unlikely to...
