Re: Munster Rugby - Semi Conscious, the Series Finale??? - 2020/21
So
Clermont never lose at home in Europe against any Irish Club... except Munster.
Australia never lose against any Irish Club... except Munster.
NZ never lose against any Irish Club... except Munster.
Etc.
In summary I believe we can say that Munster are exceptional.

I wonder if it's possible to arrange for all the people who want to attend 6N games next year to have covid vaccinations so we can have full houses and full revenue?

Luke McGrath is a lot lower down the depth chart than I'd have expected.

Re: Munster Rugby - Semi Conscious, the Series Finale??? - 2020/21
Judging by Munster's luck with 10s since ROG retired, this would be just typical. But unless he has a great, previously unmanifested, grá for Scotland, it's hard to see Glasgow being a destination of choice for Healy. Even Glasgow's international players who get the chance tend to want to get away t...

Re: Munster Rugby - Semi Conscious, the Series Finale??? - 2020/21
I was really disappointed back when JJ went to Northampton and Keatley was kept. At the time I felt that JJ had the potential to be the far better player of the two. His time over there and since his return have shown me that I was wrong, he's never really progressed and at this stage, I don't think...

Re: Rugby on the Box
Thanks Laighin Break I'll have a look at that, I find the free streaming sites to be frustrating with constant freezing. it might be a lot down to my internet but I'm happy to pay for something that just works (like Rugbypass used to). Cheers Dave. if I can get btsports on nowtv that might just be w...

Re: Rugby on the Box
Thanks Myles
I've actually tried mobdro it seems to freeze a lot for me.
Can you get all the rugby on now tv, not just the sky sports stuff, the website mentions btsport but they'll hardly give me that in ireland or am I wrong?
I hadn't heard of rugbylist I'll give it a look in.

Re: Rugby on the Box
Back in the Good old days a sky sports subscription gave you pretty much every game. For a while after the splintering of the rights to different broadcasters, rugbypass offered a way of achieving that again if you used a vpn but that disappeared a year ago when they tightened things up and I've a f...

Disappointing enough turn out by the 12 county blue army yesterday. Maybe it was the clash with El Classico del norde (bohs v rovers)?

Re: Munster, The Money Pit Province 2019/2020
Siblings being good at the same sports (or sport in general) is more down to genetics/natural talent than privilege. We see it all the time in the GAA too. Genetics undoubtedly had a part to play. But the smaller the pond you pick from the more likely the fish are to be related. The ostensible pond...

Cork is more like Dublin than Limerick when it comes to rugby (albeit with a lower population and less money)blockhead wrote:Very few players from Limerick in the Munster squad these days. Mostly from Cork.

Re: Munster, The Money Pit Province 2019/2020
This is pure nonsense - it assumes unlimited supply. If Michaels (or whoever) reduced their fees to zero - they could still only take in the same number of kids each year. No isn't. It means that only in Limerick do non fee paying schools run meaningful rugby programmes. Of course these schools do ...

Time to concentrate on improving the foundations of the team, engage in fiscally responsible investment, paying some debts, rebuilding the identity from grass roots level, improving the resources of the feeder schools, clubs and most of all the academy now. Fixed Actually, it's the other way around...

Re: Munster, The Money Pit Province 2019/2020
Strength in depth did for us imo, we didn't have good enough replacements. Still though, if that game had been in Limerick we'd have won. No criticism of wayne Barnes implied there but even the best referees cant help but give the home team the benefit of the doubt more often than not. Happy to give...

Re: European Champions Cup [Most Improved]
Today in commentaries In the Clermont Ulster game, Nick Mullins and Andrew Trimble were quiet when the referee was speaking so that we could hear what he was saying, even to the extent to pausing when in the middle of a point. In the Connacht Toulouse match, Hugh Cahill blathered on telling us the g...

Underlying "Hate Speech" legislation is the idea that "other" people won't be able to see through it the way we can and must be protected lest they and society go bad. 433 and peg leg can see the hate speech some Americans come out with for what it is, but many Americans aren't a...

Re: In need of a laugh?
You don't really get the idea behind free speech, do you? Are there limits to free speech in a liberal democracy?? I'd be inclined to think that the suppression of speech is far more harmful than allowing unpleasant views to be aired. If you libel/slander someone then there may be consequences for ...
