Re: New contracts for coaching ticket

I can't see LAR anymore in my rearview mirror for all the dust. Enough already. We've got a tricky URC quickening to navigate, a Euro semi vs Northampton in Jones' Road and, if we win that, a possible Mother of All Finals vs Dupont, Ntamack and the rest of the Toulouse garcons in London.

Re: Jordi Barrett to sign for Leinster

Priceless stuff. Leinster replace Ngatai with Barrett so.... Waterfordlad I've been a member of Irish Rugby Supporters Club since 2008, mainly for access to tickets/events. No more, I'm done. The power of one. It's a small thing at 50 euros a year but I'm quitting on principle. I'll still support M...

Re: Ulster 2023/24

Wonder will Murphy stay on in any capacity if true or head back to the U20s? He's too good to be bumped around as IRFUs supply teacher. I couldn't see him at this point being interested in any role that isn't Head Coach - he has more coaching experience than Payne. The two of them together? Mightn'...

It's a nice statement. Positive about Leinster and Bath.
Sure was. Fair play to Ross and here's wishing him all the best at Bath.

Re: Jordi Barrett to sign for Leinster

by Colmodon Agree with this. Jackman was talking about the potential Jordie signing on the 42 and said he thought other provinces need more budget. In principle I don't really disagree, but I just don't really understand what they would do with that budget? What does another million get for Ulster ...

Re: New contracts for coaching ticket

I remember being very impressed by a story I read in the press about Anthony Foley during the season he'd taken over at Munster, after Rob Penny got the heave-ho. At the time the Reds weren't getting the desired results and the faithful were making their dissatisfaction increasingly known. Part of t...

"The Left Wing: Leinster make La Rochelle statement - but should they be allowed sign Jordie Barrett?"

Re: Jordi Barrett to sign for Leinster

A lot of comments are making the assumption that the IRFU are funding this when in honesty 90% of the rugby public don’t have a clue (me included), but that aside who is to say this isn’t privately funded like marque signing in the past in Munster and Ulster, I’m fairly sure there are private inves...

Re: Jordi Barrett to sign for Leinster

It is possible that Werner Kok's role is to demonstrate to a herd of underperforming/emerging wingers how to be a real pro who gives their all for their team week in week out. Nothing against WK, whose all-round commitment I admire, but are these not insights the wider Ulster playing group were sup...

Re: Leinster v Northampton Saints - EPCR Semi-Final Croke Park 4th May

The Hill will be packed and the stands will be half empty bit of a joke by EPCR novelty of croker might tempt more to go but I think you're right. if they don't get a full house, their price policy (only dropping prices on cat4) will be embarrassing and not good optics for the competition on telly....

Re: Jordi Barrett to sign for Leinster

The real problem (from the other 3 provinces POV) is the Leinster schools system, and the super strong foundation it gives us relative to the others. If I was the CEO of Munster, Connacht or Ulster, I'd be looking for IRFU support to try and close the gap on that front, and there's a few things tha...

Re: Jordi Barrett to sign for Leinster

There is absolutely zero justification in the world for why Ulster have signed Werner Kok given the state of their current squad, but that's absolved of any furore whatsoever. It is possible that Werner Kok's role is to demonstrate to a herd of underperforming/emerging wingers how to be a real pro ...

He'll certainly help get bums on seats next season, €200k feels like a bargain for a player of his quality.

Re: Lions v Leinster - Sat 20 April, 14.00 - RTE2

Molony and Jenkins have each played 15 games with 5 league games left and up to 5 more knockouts. That's a massive amount of gametime. We probably are tight for next year unless we've very positive that Soroka will bolt, and maybe even then. No need to worry. Our new South African second row and do...

It was - first one was on Doris for sealing off, second on Doris for holding on (this was the really dubious one). Doris had his legs taken from under him. Happened on the far side of the ruck so I can understand that the picture didn't look good. One of Jenkins penalties was manufactured when he w...
