Apologies for going slightly off topic here but does anyone know the best spot for watching the game in Amsterdam? Re: Leinster v Ulster RDS 1st January 2024 at 17:15
This game had me thinking about the SA defence. In order to perform optimally, it was often suggested that it required a defensive leader in the form of Vermulen or Kwagga to get numbers and spacing either side of the ruck right. I wonder might we have to develop/anoint that kind of figure in our sy...

Re: Rumour Mill
Scotland are fishing around Finn smith of Northampton. Should he usurp Healy, his loss wont be viewed as as much a loss in the near future. A very competent FH but probably not a game changer.

Whatever about Schroeder's cat, does anybody know the whereabouts of James Lowe? Also, seeing well fed Simon at full back brings to mind the advice that used be given for playing against Barry McGann fado fado, in that it was easier to run through him than exhaust yourself trying to run around him....

Thought Maguire showed more in his cameo than Clarkson. Id be going with him and Healy/Alalatoa next week.
Tommy, harry, penny and deegan werent terrible.
Nothing more to say really. Weak start to the season

Re: Ulster 2022-2023
I know of 2 wider squad players in Ulster who said McFarland told them, along with others, not to expected to be selected in the first team. He asked then to be good squad members and contribute to training….seems terrible squad management from a coach who supposedly specialises in mental side of th...

Agree on Sheridan. I wasnt overly impressed with him at u20s but he’s changed my mind since. Seems more mobile now as well as really filling out and developers s nice level of aggression. He’s like a slightly smaller Joe McCarthy

Luke McGrath tracked in behind the line very effectively against Exeter a few years back too

If we’re not allowed sign a foreign import for the back 3, id like leinster to look at the aforementioned Sexton of ulster or Killgallen of Connacht. Both big rangy fast units, which we dont have. Killgallen was hailed as a phenomenal athlete with skills to boot last year. Both worth a punt Sent fr...

Re: The Leinster Front Row preview 2021/22
You’d hope Buckley stepping up to a senior deal, along with Barron, O’Byrne and scannell in place, that their hooker roster is nicely complete. Big things expected of Buckley, why stall his development? A local lad will always pip an outsider in the long run too. Assuming Munster is the only destina...

I saw mention of Bill Johnson linked with Connacht after his loan spell in the championship. They’re obviously in the market for a 10/12 after approaching hawkshaw but frawley would be mad fo go. She would be in a position behind first choice 10 and 12 in Carty and Bundee to start off with Sent from...

Re: Champions Cup 1/4 Final: Exeter V Leinster
Thomas Francis starting is interesting. He's usually a bencher. Clearly they want a bit of beef to take on our front row. That might be better for Byrne coming in. On your point LRIP, I would imagine it's Byrne's carrying/footwork impact off the bench that swings it for him. But I agree I see Doole...

I remember rugbypass reporting a few months back that Munster were sniffing around an Aussie FH. Fairly unheralded in the Hickey mould, I forget their name. So JVG certainly doesn’t want to rely on his current stock.
