Re: Leinster League 2015/ 2016

knockon.ie was a fantastic site that filled the massive void left by those only interested in the elite part of the game. Nobody in the branches or union seems to care about the domestic game though. The Leinster app use to have a domestic section, it doesnt anymore, why? The fact that the union cou...

Re: Australia v Lions 3rd Test

It's over and they won. I was incorrect in my thoughts that I wouldn't care, once it started I wanted Australia to win because I didn't want Gatland to have a series win. Childish? Definitely. But sport invokes a lot of raw emotion that is beyond our control and that is how I felt. I do believe, des...

Re: Australia v Lions 3rd Test

I have always been excited about the Lions. Despite the poor test record there is something special about it. But I turned on Sky News this morning and my interest just evaporated. I know it's sport and decisions are made but I had subconsciously prepared myself for that "Hollywood" type e...

Re: Sabre-rattling from Premiership Rugby again ...

The other thing that comes to mind is the local economy for each club. I'm not so sure the hoteliers and landlords would be as enthused about a competition that brings 1500 French fans instead of 15000 Irish fans. How much of the TV money goes to the local economy? Even here the pubs and hotels hate...

Highest attendance at a HC match was an all Irish affair.
Highest attendance at a HC final was an all Irish affair.

Re: Club Sustainability Report released today

U21s players follow the money/"scholarship" trail. When only a couple of clubs offer this there is a imbalance in ability levels at each club as the clubs that can offer these enticements only want the best players( just look at Irish U20s squad, 13 players from Leinster, 12 of which come ...

Re: Ireland v France

Is it not time for DK to even invite Steenson to the training squad. He said he hadn't looked at him before because all the 10s in Ireland were playing so well. Well, now they're not. Just watched him put in another excellent performance for Exeter against Harlequins. At least get him over and watch...

Re: Leinster League 2012-2013

Having watched a couple of games over the last two weekends and seeing former "strong" clubs become "weak" and vice versa, what is the turnover of players at these clubs. I know everyone has suffered due to work commitments and emigration but how much is good recruitment policies...

Re: Leinster Rugby Grounds

No real noticeable difference with iOS 6 aside from loss of google maps. Siri is better at understanding an Irish accent now!

As for the helpful Galaxy suggestion, personally I prefer Cadburys chocolate to that of Mars but whatever you're into yourself.

Re: Leinster Rugby Grounds

Downloaded iOS 6 on iPhone and have as a result lost Google maps and therefor the info to every ground on my phone. Is there any technophile out there that knows if it's possible to transfer the map folder to the new Apple maps? Don't want to put them in individually!

Re: Young Props coming through

Of the two U20 props and experience in AIL. Merrey has played AIL with Clontarf, was dropped at end of season by Leinster from sub-academy. Furlong has been injured the whole season due to his shoulder be rearranged at last years JWC, would have played AIL otherwise. Was on successful J1 metro cup w...

Re: Kidney OUT

I also believe that we should take on board Gert Smal's suggestion from a couple of years ago that a specialised prop development program should be started as we remain clearly f**ked in this department. We just hope some one will. Ome up through the schools or youth system but why not have somethi...

Re: Kidney OUT

I'm not a fan of suggesting anyone should lose their job no matter what field their employment may be in. However professional sport is an arena in which you have to show 1) results and/or 2) development. On that basis I would argue that this 6 nations has been more successful for Scotland than us a...

Re: IRB Player of the Year

Never said it invalidated his RWC Donny, but it does dent his player of the year credentials to not play well in IRE's biggest game of the year. Assuming you are correct about his 6N form then it would seem harsh to leave him off. Agree on Weepu, I love the guy, but he's solely on the list because ...

Re: Ireland vs USA

The IRFU should take a leaf out of Arsenals book and refund all the supporters who paid in to watch that tripe. Sick to the teeth already about difficult conditions, just as well it's rarely wet or windy here. Why can't DK be honest as well? It was awful don't try and pretend otherwise

At the moment these are unproven allegations. There is an investigation underway and I think we should all just wait until that is complete before engaging in a trial by media Well it's such an unlikely story: Two Dutch South African's racially abuse a black guy, who could concoct such a fanciful t...

Re: Ireland V England

Oh dear... there are a couple of reasons why Leinster, Munster can take on and better the best packs in Europe and why Ireland fail; the first and foremost reason is that the French and English international teams are made up of the best players from several teams (and countries in England's case!)...
