Re: European Champions Cup 23/24

If teams don't want to compete or feel they can't they shouldn't be in the tournament. It's not just this game, we're selling a lot of tickets for games at the RDS and Aviva where weakened teams are showing up to get hammered, that's not a contest or what sport is all about. This is particularly bad...

Re: Leinster Squad 23-24

From Leinster: " 𝗗𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗲𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗯𝗹𝘂𝗲 🤩 💙 Our Hooker has signed a new two-year deal with @IrishRugby and Leinster Rugby. 🙌" We've had worse weeks :D A no brainer, Dan is not just one of the best players in Ireland but one of the best in the world at the moment. Very well deserved.

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2

Just re watched the first half again and I thought JJ had a really good game. He brought everything we wanted from him in terms of using his size, covered the ground and had some really big moments (great last ditch tackle to allow Larmour a turn over in the first half). Wasn't perfect (I know he g...

Re: Leinster v Northampton Saints - EPCR Semi-Final Croke Park 4th May

Be interesting to see how tickets are priced. Think Leinster did a really good job of pricing to ensure that we had nearly 100k people at 2 games within a week. Do they control pricing at this game or is it the EPCR? EPCR Laissez la gougeage commence! Exactly. Would not be surprised if they didn't ...

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2

Gotta laugh at all the whinging about RoG being booed. Make no mistake, this is nothing more than pandering to Munster fans, especially people from Cork. Leinster players booed often in TP down the years. Leinster players given nicknames like Daverage and Kneeslip. Leinster referred to as Ladyboys....

A player of Ringrose"s expirence, ability and intelligence is a big loss for us but I have a feeling that Osborne's name will be mentioned a lot during the post match celebrations agree with this. he's impressed so much recently. feel for Harry a bit but horses for courses. Hmm...... Ross has ...

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2

From Matt Williams in the Times: "While it is part of Leinster’s culture to not publicly talk about their passion, unlike Munster and La Rochelle, it is a very foolish team that deceives themselves into believing that their passion is superior to Leinster’s. A trap that many Munster teams of t...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

A few thoughts. Firstly I pop in here as it tend to be a different viewpoint. Munster aren’t actually doing too badly at all. We have our strengths and weaknesses. One of the biggest big bears I often have is the comparison business of one province v another. Each have their one unique set of chall...

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2

Bizarre if bulls are "throwing" this match .... why did they bother against Lyon only to do this? or more pertinently, why didn't they take the risk of playing their B team against Lyon in Pretoria and/or sending their B team to Dublin ? Their last 5 league games are all winnable WITHOUT ...

Media in South Africa suggesting the Bulls have left a host of first-team regulars at home for Saturday’s Champions Cup quarter-final against Saints. Team news tomorrow at midday. Lock Dunne, 25, has played 31 times since he was signed from United Rugby Championship big guns Leinster ahead of Connacht last season and will depart for the Scarlets after missing a large chunk of the campaign through injury. From RugbyPass Big unit, regretted him leaving us but career hasn't rea...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

The bank of mom and dad analogy is really the story of the prodigal son. Leinster had to make cuts because of Munster's spending. One reason to want a self sufficient Munster is so our budget isn't getting hit along with our squad being raided. The prem clubs were allowed take their risks but the R...

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2

Toulouse are better than this crowd (we'll meet them in the final fingers crossed) The tournament is more open this year than previous years. Northampton are on fire, and Bordeaux clearly seem to be interested and are a great attacking side. Bulls are better than they showed against us too. I don't...

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2

If anyone is nervous or having doubts about our chances, then definitely don't listen to the left wing pod. It certainly paints a bleak picture of our hope of winning. Not sure what they are saying but overall I do think LA Rochelle are favourites. They are a big budget French team filled with star...

4m in operational debt seems kind of mad. Kind of funny in the context of them wanting to hang on to Snyman. And yes I realise his wages were paid by outsiders bung money in under the table which when you say it makes the operation debt even more bizarre. Didn't the Ulster CEO just lose his job bec...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

Lots of interesting titbits in the article. I have been wondering would the IRFU ever consider giving financial incentives or penalties for player production? For example if Munster ever produce a center they will get X amount more money then the previous year. Same for us with scrumhalves and othe...
