Re: A whiff of Cordite

Franno with a nicely incendiary line in the Indo: "The Spanish presence in the ground was unmistakeable. Amateur, colourful, noisy, partisan and there to simply watch the big boys - just like the Munster fans." you're not helping Franno! For the record the Munster fans I met (even the one with the ...

That's a serious Munster line-up, will be a cracking game

Hoping our backrow have a big big game, they should be up for it.

https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/healthy-rivalry-not-for-the-unhealthy-1.985388 Good article on Leinster Munster rivalry up to 2007 It all changed after Croke Park 2009 (of course my all time favourite Leinster Munster game, surpassed only by the great 2011 Cardiff comeback in Leinster greatest ever...

Re: Leinster v Munster 2018 Pro14 S/F 19th May RDS

John Hayes stamped on Felipe? I cant remember, I was right in front of it on the grand stand side - a maul on the touchline - can anyone remember? No it was Cian Healy - Felipe didn't play that match DoctorPhil had left Leinster by then no? Cian would be pleased though to be mistaken for the handso...

Re: Champions Cup Final - Leinster v Racing

Excuse my ignorance but who were the lads in blazers who came up to Leinster fans to celebrate just after the final whistle (the corner below sections 310 - 312) ?

Bah, that's a bit shite.

I wish him the best of course, Bath have a great tradition of playing good rugby, let's hope he develops further and returns to Leinster some day

Re: Champions Cup Final - Leinster v Racing

No Cheers when the attendance was announced was telling for ERC. No Cheers and quite a few boos for the officials when they collected their medals also. We did well to unstrangle ourselves and win that. Our defence on our own line twice when they had penalty advantage were the turning points in the...

Re: Baggage policy San Mames stadium ?.

Be mindful of the items which you are prohibited to enter the stadium with; some of these items include alcohol, flags, weapons, flares or fireworks and banners or symbols that could incite violence. Flags up to 1.0 x 1.2 meters in size, and flagpoles of flexible plastic of no more than 1.0 meter i...

Re: Champions Cup Final - Leinster v Racing

The weather forecast currently predicts, what would be, an Irish summer day. 19 degrees, partially cloudy: https://www.eltiempo.es/bilbao.html But, as the lads above say, it is the Basque Country. You'll only get a reasonably accurate forecast 5 days out, and really only 3 days out, and really, rea...

Re: European Cup Final 2020

I had a better experience there last year for the Top14 demifinal weekend, matches on Friday and Saturday, great atmosphere, not threat, no trouble, lots of sunshine. I think the authorities and locals are getting to realise that rugby is not soccer and have learnt to manage differently Had a ball d...

Re: European Rugby Champions Cup

But that was a big impressive win for Racing, now they are firmly 2nd in the Top 14 after the BP win. Pressure was on them before this win to secure that spot as they were #3. Now they have Agen (with nothing to play for) at home - so they will have an easy home game. If Racing get a BP then they a...

Re: Roll call for Bilbao!.

Have a feeling that a large number of tickets just as the accommodation is being allocated to tour packages , looking at the Racing Forum can’t see a deluge of their fans travelling. From what I saw of the chart at different stages there were large chunks of the stadium unavailable even from an ear...

Re: MOC finally admits Gopperth is his guy.

I'm sure MOC went into the job with his eyes open but Joe said it himself that it does take a bit of getting used to working within the IRFU's policies. It's not like any other club. I doubt very much he is getting excuses in. This season is virtually a no win situation for him as unless he won the...
