Saturday: Latest on train travel
It would seem that Saturday's rail strike has been called off, however too late to revert to the normal timetable so the planned reduced service will still apply. Re: Terrace C Northampton
Terrace C is just about full of season tickets holders so only normally about half a dozen tickets available there when each game goes on sale. As has been mentioned elsewhere, if you are travelling to Northampton on Saturday the local train company has a strike by guards, for which some drivers are...

Thanks for the weekend
Got back to Northampton at 5am this morning, after a relatively calm ferry crossing to Holyhead. Got to say a big thank you to all the Leinster supporters that we met over the weekend, and everyone else in Dublin. All the other Saints fans that I have heard from say that they had a brilliant time in...

Re: HEC: Leinster V Northampton 14/12/13 KO 6PM
I doubt very much that Ken Pisi will play at 15 for us this weekend. He shouldn't really have played there last Saturday as he has no real experience of playing at Full Back at that level. He was put in as a last minute reshuffle when James Wilson was crocked in the warm-up. Glenn Dickson, who was o...

Re: Pub recommendation in Northampton
"For those of us who prefer our music a little heavier there's the King Billy on Kingswell St. No idea where that is, but I hope to give them some custom over the course of the weekend." If you find All Saints Church in the middle of the town centre stand in front of it and face south - yo...

Re: Northampton match
From the railway station it is a 15-20 minute walk to Franklin's Gardens (but you may wish to allow a little bit longer as there are two pubs and a working mens club en route).

Re: Saints v Leinster - Sat 7th Dec 6pm
Pre-match drinks: As I posted on the What Not To Do thread... "Within a 10 minute walk of the ground you have the Foundryman's Arms, the Thomas a Becket and the St James Working Mens Club. All are rugby supporter friendly, but if previous visits from Connacht, Munster and Ulster are anything to...

Re: Saints v Leinster - Sat 7th Dec 6pm
Regarding the terrace, it is split into sections and you will only be allowed into the section marked on your ticket. Blocks B, C and D make up the Gordon Terrace and run along the touchline in front of the Tetley stand. Block C straddles the half-way line, running roughly between the two 10 metre l...

Re: Saints game at Franklin's Gardens - what not to do!
The bars within the ground all serve real ale (but it's more expensive then in the pubs). Within a 10 minute walk of the ground you have the Foundryman's Arms, the Thomas a Becket and the St James Working Mens Club. All are rugby supporter friendly, but if previous visits from Connacht, Munster and ...

Re: Saints game at Franklin's Gardens - what not to do!
Kids: Can't think of much off the top of my head at the moment, but if the weather is too bad for outdoor activities there are 2 multiplex cinemas in town and a bowling alley.

Saints game at Franklin's Gardens - what not to do!
Lots of people in Northampton are currently sorting out their travel and accommodation for the Heineken Cup game in Dublin, and I guess that you are all doing the same for the match a week earlier at Franklin's Gardens. As it's at the Gardens there may be more of you wanting to travel than there are...
