Re: Wolfhounds v Saxons
And + another 1. Gotta hand it to Joe- he likes to shake things up. I sure as hell didn't see Luke going to the wing- possible Dave Kearney absence being covered? But Joe being Joe, Earls could start on the wing for Italy. The reality as always is somewhere in the middle. Earls has done far better ...

Re: Cardiff v Leinster 10/01/15
McGrath wasnt brillant but he is a lot better than Boss. More gametime and he will only push on and get better IMO. Seriously- please tell me how the accuracy of his passing will improve with games? He played well today (in most respects) but his passing is still erratic and without serious remedia...

Re: Game 4: Home to Cardiff[26/09] TG4
Should be interesting to see who starts this one. Reddan played well last week and brings a lot to our games, but I'd imagine his minutes will be counted closely. Boss is presumably still injured, while McGrath has made two very poor mistakes in two cameos, along with some really nice running. What...

Re: Leinster 2014/2015 Academy
Who do people think will be added? Below all quite likely/likely to be added: Peadar Timmins(Backrow), Nick McCarthy(Scrumhalf), Ross Byrne(Outhalf), Gary Ringrose(Centre), Ian Fitzpatrick(Wing), Cian Kelleher(Wing/Fullback). Many(Any) others? Of this seasons academy Furlong, O Shea, Conan, Coghlan...

Re: Summer tour to Argentina
Can Cave play 12? I seem to remember a lot of Ulster fans giving out at him being selected at 12 for the semi. Anyway Olding is clearly the future at 12. Marshall is a solid option but Olding can be something special. The reason for the unrest was that Payne is clearly a far better 15 than 13 and C...

I don't think the "told you so" posts do anyone any favours eitherceemec wrote:Ah here. This hyperbole muddies things. The team was on the longest winning streak of any side in Europe after Christmas. If anyone thought the team were "falling apart" then the issue was with them.

Re: Leinster vs Munster March 29th
. I think you'd have to admit that you are bit biased on the bench - the two Cronins absolutely right. DOC is far far better than Cullen, who is a liability this season, Id take Stander over Murphy, evens at best, I'd also take Hanrahan over Gopperth , but the big gap between Boss and Williams prob...

Re: Who is your first choice Leinster tight-head?
Ross showed yet again why he's rightly, first choice for Ireland and Leinster. Great to have both guys competing, but the unnatural bias we as fans have for younger, unproven players needs to be tempered. Ross is still the man who'll lead our scrum in the Mayol, and it's because of performance like...

Re: Rumour Mill
To be fair, he's been given opportunities, but he just hasn't taken them. He has no one to blame but himself. He had 19 minutes this season before Sunday. Don't think anyone was disappointed with how he went in his last game last season, starting against the Ospreys. It's just the unfortunate situa...

Re: Ireland v Scotland, RBS 6 Nations 2014
Earls has a much better career strike record, despite Luke being on the all conquering Leinster squad while Keith has been in what you all agree is only the third best team in Ireland. That's a pretty breathtaking inferiority complex. You have my deepest sympathies, the last few years must ...

Re: Leinster v Ospreys 17/1/14
Ospreys 6 jumped on mccarthy two footed too Evans also kicked him twice when he tried to grab his foot Lots of uk twitterers etc saying he got what he deserved for pulling a maul down. If that was case ospreys league winning team would be in a morgue. Wonder if they said same when paulie was red ca...

Re: IRELAND 6 NATIONS SQUAD 2014
TOD 14 tackles made 0 missed this weekend, best numbers of the 42 players in the squad. Consistently leads the tackle stats where ever he plays. A few turnovers thrown in and a pretty effective game I'd say. Next best Devin Toner 11/1 POC 11/1 Varley 11/2 Murphy 10/1 and Diack 9/0. His previous HC ...

Re: IRELAND 6 NATIONS SQUAD 2014
I see some of the preciousness is back An interesting take on opinions that differ from yours And yes Ruddock was stand out to me in the Northampton games, he was excellent away from home and as one of the few to put in a decent shift during the shítefest in the Aviva. Those were the games he naile...

Re: Ireland u20 2013/14
Nick McCarthy? jesus we are weak at SH if he is first choice. I've seen McCarthy a few times, for Michaels, Leinster Schools and Leinster U20s. I think he's pretty good, certainly wouldn't be too worried about him playing. Not sure if he'll be the starting scrum-half, but if he's included in the sq...

Re: IRELAND 6 NATIONS SQUAD 2014
Not sure that Ruddock is in that great form - not like he has been demanding selection for Leinster all year What on earth are you talking about? That assessment seems so wrong id almost think you're being sarcastic, though I just can't see that somehow. His form has been brilliant. Locky was comfo...

Re: Ulster Rugby 2013/2014
So what you're saying is that when the first choice back line is playing they score butt loads of tries. Good stuff. Well actually NO Leinster have now fielded their first choice back line 6 times this season , v Munster , the 4 Heineken Cup matches and tonight. In 5 of those 6 games ( Northampton ...

Re: Connacht v Leinster
Not happy with Denton but its not like there's anyone who can feel overly hard done by I suppose. Roux can, I think. Admittedly I was in a state of post-All Blacks mourning at the time, but I thought he looked good against Treviso. He's only got 16 minutes since that game, whereas Denton has got 3 ...

Re: Ulster Rugby 2013/2014
He has got a point though. Would BOD be your first choice 13 for the 6 Nations? And I agree, he is the best player this Island has ever produced. The question is, is he currently the best 13 on the island? Like those above I was once a big fan of Cave, but a lot of that faith assumed he had the pot...

Re: Rumour Mill
I don't particularly care, just pointing out that our fans slag off other provinces too. It's not even slagging or abuse of Heaslip (although it does happen) it's that people talking seriously about rugby totally underrate him and look for any opportunity to prove that point. No player in Ireland i...

Re: Leinster v Ulster
Leinster fans! It's OK though, that's what supporters do. There are fan favourites in Leinster that are rated higher by supporters than they probably deserve of course, but Madigan really isn't one of those players. I've sensed a lot of frustration with him among the supporters this season particul...
