Re: Random Soccer Thread

Did anyone see the brain doner on Prime Time last night? They were doing a set of vox pops about England in the Euros final, when our hero replies "Thats a foreign sport, I don't watch that". He was wearing a munster rugby polo shirt AM I tyhe only person who started thinking of a kebab h...

Re: Corona Virus

Such clowns. Delay and obfuscate on antigen testing for months and then come out and dismiss them. Dismiss vx passports as unworkable for months and then demand them as a condition of re-opening. Spend 6 months telling everyone it's a marathon not a sprint re the Vax rollout until suddenly it's a sp...

They have him doing victory laps at the moment so hopefully the cardinal is on the way out. I wasn't a fan of the hysteria over big phil or the RTE crew having a party but I note he's had 2 indoor awards ceremonies with no masks in the space of a week. Yet spectators at the RDS had to wear masks int...

Anyone given this a go? https://crooked.com/podcast-series/wind-of-change/ "It’s 1990. The Berlin Wall has just come down. The Soviet Union is on the verge of collapse. A heavy metal band from West Germany, the Scorpions, releases a power ballad, “Wind of Change.” The song becomes the soundtra...

Didn't know that about Cuba, it seems my anecdata was unreliable. India is using the Oxfod/AZ vaccine which was licensed for cost anyway. And they've 1.3bn people so even without exporting they're going to struggle to produce enough for themselves. There's a good article on it here. https://www.bbc....

Intellectual Rights of the Vaccines. Really not sure on this one and the quick fix that is being suggested sounds like the morally right thing to do. But is it feasible or is it just a political sound bite because regardless of who is manufacturing the vaccines there seems to be a lot of supply cha...

Re: 2021 Lions

I think Gatland would like to bring Manu. I think he will give him every chance now that North is out ... those two guys are freakish specimens, and I think Gats would want one of them in the midfield. I reckon it will be Henshaw, Slade, Ringrose and Manu. Owen Farrell will be selected, depends how...

Re: Munster Rugby - Semi Conscious, the Series Finale??? - 2020/21

Zebo is a good player and Munster fans love him. Was fullback a big position of need for them? No it wasn't. They'll wind up with a bit of wastage in the back three, but to be honest they had that once they signed Gallagher. I wonder “what’s the story” with Shane Daly. He was a serious upwards traj...

But I’m nervous doing this before a Lions tour. That’s the one time you might actually see what was being talked about.

Re: Trends

This might be a good place to discuss the new laws being trialed. Have to say, the idea that a team would set out to injure someone from the first minute and be happy to be without someone for 20 minutes seems off the wall to me  I'd honestly say that the only way that's likely to happen is at...

not sure about the red card rule. send out low grade player to take out key opposition player. he gets sidelined for 20 while key player is out of match. replace sidelined player with your real player you intended for the match and you have 60 minutes to come good. Cynical I know, but Hay Richard C...

Just annonced Tom Clarkson signs his first pro contract. I feel something brewing........ Clarkson had interest from LI so his agent got his contract bumped. WIth Alaatoa on the way and presumably on a decent wedge it doesn't seem like moving Salanoa was cost effective for the IRFU. Who could...

Hadn't noticed that - bit odd
It's not. Usually reserved for teams who make it to the last 8 but with the season being truncated they've plumbed for last 4.

Is there a format for this thing or are they just making it up as they go along. I can see they have fixtures for the first 5/6 rounds then the fixtures are empty.

Re: Corona Virus

It's not the HSE - it's not even someone with a medical background. It's the CEO, Michael Cullen - son of Des "Penny-Apples" Cullen - with zero medical background who had been using vaccines to sort out a number of groups ahead of the vaccine rollout (creche workers, school, VHI CEO etc) ...
