Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????
A lo is made of blood and guts but at the end of the day they also had some top notch players when they were at their peak. Truth is there are very few top notch players in Munster now. Absolutely, their pack was world class and they had 9 Lions in the team and the imports (Howlett, Mafi and Tipoki...

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????
As you would expect from Munster, nothing was left on the pitch effort wise but unfortunately they just lack quality and depth and the years of the academy not producing a conveyor belt is coming home to roost for both them and Ireland (same is true of Ulster in my view). Blood and guts only gets y...

In fairness to him I thought he did well in the first half, faded a bit in the second but that is understandable.Colmodon wrote: ↑April 8th, 2024, 9:02 amArcher played the full 80sunshiner1 wrote: ↑April 8th, 2024, 3:51 am Didn't see the game. Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2
What I’d like- is a considered selection to counter their advantages and- particularly for us to stop messing about in the line out! It was infuriating and embarrassing to watch all that intricate movement come to nothing as- (I think) three throws went to relatively static Leicester players who pi...

I suppose the upside is it allows them to concentrate on defending the URC.

Re: Punch Drunk - the boxing thread
Collins was certainly known to Irish/UK Boxing fans, but the USA/Vegas are the real meal tickets, not sure how well known he was over there before this fight made headlines...if, as suggested by the review, this movie is anywhere near the level of "When We Were Kings", it will be worth th...

Re: Box of old programmes
I have a big box of programmes for assorted Ireland home matches from the 1950s to the 1990s which will not be joining me in our next house move. Some of the programmes are in excellent condition, some are water damaged. I was given a load from the 50s and 60s by an elderly neighbour when I was a k...

Re: Leinster v Leicester - Sat 6 April, 20.00 RTE2
Such a strong team still given all the injuries. I think if Ben Murphy is needed it might be better to have Ross on the pitch rather than the brother. It'll be interesting to see what the bookies make of the selections. It's already moved from 16 points to 18 points in favour of Leinster since the ...

Re: RDS redevelopment
Snap!! It really does cap out ambition. The big advantage of the North and South stands is that it's free seating and you can bring mates or kids and sit with who you want. However, if you go to a game and get absolutely drowned I'm not sure you'd be back in a hurry. I've been drowned and been back...

Weather is going to play a part tomorrow, the forecast is biblical. Calming down a bit during the day but 60kts possible at some point. That's a force 11 folks. Tie down your cats and dogs.
