Re: Ulster 2023/24

I too was there at Aviva that day when the combined Leinster/Ulster team put Munster/ Connacht to the sword. Interesting to see that six of that squad went on to play for Ulster ( 5 home grown and Marty Moore) a great return on Ulster’s youth programme. There is no doubt that Marshall was the star o...

I think you will find Chris Moore is ex Exeter Uni who won the BUKS competition tsp years ago.

Re: Nucifora 2: the revenge

It may come as surprise to Enby but in the modern world it is not necessary to sit in an office and perhaps a more mobile approach with visits to all Provinces would be welcome. Not everyone thinks the world ends at the pale. Indeed many would
like to see less of the D4 orientation.

Re: 6 Nations 2023 - The Other Teams

Took my grandson some years ago to Ravenhill to watch the Irish Wolfhounds v English Saxons. My one real outstanding memory was seeing the much hyped Manu Tuilagia being left floundering as the late Nial Spence ( at the time a virtually unknown Ulster Centre ) cut trough his defence like a knife thr...

Re: Ulster 2022-2023

Yes Dexter things are not goood at present with Ulster and it is frustrating. Against Einstein they were the better team in the first half but but then lost control and folded in the second half. Sale result was down to the Ulster admin who booked them on a public flight on the Friday afternoon then...

Re: Ulster 2022-2023

The clue to the coverage is in the title of the show “ The Ulster Rugby Show“ so it concentrates on Ulster Rugby of course you were able to view this show and obviously were not GeoBlocked unlike most Rugby broadcast on RTÉ for viewers in N.Ireland.

Re: Grahamunster - Graham Rowntree's Munster 2022/2023

Funny how things change when Carberry was at Leinster he was being feted like he was the second coming. He was being sent to another Province to get more game time and thankfully as an Ulster supporter he declined the oppurtunity to play with an exciting backline and went to Munster. What limited gam...

Re: Grahamunster - Graham Rowntree's Munster 2022/2023

Got the impression that Arnold left Ulster because he thought he should be regular starter whereas Ulster saw him as a bench man.
I think had an over inflated opinion of his quality. He seemed to see himself at Connacht
as another Bundi Aki without Aki’s ability.

Re: Emerging Ireland to tour SA

Stats on player maybe interesting but they don’t tell the whole story. Many players with low apparent playing time may well be down to injury and some benefitted immensely through injuries to others for example Doak through Cooney and McElroy through the absence of both Stockdale and Balacoune. I do...

Re: Ulster 2021/22

With regard to the pitch at Ravenhill unlike the RDS which is only used for occasional Leinster matches that aren’t being played at the Aviva there are a whole series of cup finals etc with regard to club and schools competitions that are played there especially at the latter end of the season on th...

There is one solution to the Out Half problem which would solve it in one stroke. Declan Kidney solved his need for an out half quite easily.

Ronk what makes you think he would get game time at Ulster they have 3 very adequate outhalves in Burn,Madigan and Lowry with Doak capable of filling in if need be.
On current evidence he maybe needed back in Leinster.

Re: Ulster 2021/22

Money from Bulls compensation, Cotezee’s Salary & Faddes release frees his salary. Only other signing is Mick Kearney from Zebre so not so over extended as some seem to think. Also some other retirements being replaced by ex Academy players. Ulsters treatment of S.African players over the years ...

Re: Leinster Squad 20-21

Gibbes is well known in Ulster as the guy who got an early release to go back to NZ for family reasons but his plane was diverted to La Rochelle and who turned pretty nasty on screen when the BBC reporter asked him about his mid week trip to La Rochelle when he was our porting to be returning to NZ....

Re: 6 Nations 2021

Well we ended the game with an all Leinster back line and still did not look threatening. It’s time to cut our losses and bring in some fresh blood. Both wingers were in effective today any benefit Ireland got from Lowe’s kick was negated by his poor defence. Ireland would be better playing two youn...

Re: Munster Rugby - Semi Conscious, the Series Finale??? - 2020/21

Wouldn’t agree about Ulster either , that has been one of their weaknesses, in that they rattle up the four tries for the bonus point but fail as they say to put the boot in. They have in the past tended to congratulate themselves and relax. This week against Zebre we saw signs that they have realis...

Re: 8 Nations 2020

Like the theory re Cooney even if it is slightly flawed in that Ulster have three promising 9’s in the academy in Doak, Finlay and McKee. They maybe haven’t had the exposure of others but following through on The Cooney theory this would be a good time to try them out. Shanahan although showing some...
