Re: One-eyed Australian Commentators

Could it be the rugby league and AFL influence?
Of course head contact isn't allowed in AFL but they don't book or send of players, which is really strange

Re: Ireland u20 2021

be interested to see if he can keep that work rate and impact up at senior level where he will be undersized. certainly 7 looks his best shot. Yeah I hope Munster let him stay at 7. There's a gap in the Munster squad for a high class openside, develop his jackal a little more. His biggest obstacle ...

Re: Summer tour of Dublin 2021

A lot of very good performances - Kelleher, Coombes, Casey and Conway especially. Keenan, as always, a joy to watch. I've seen Casey's kicking being criticised here before, but thought his contestable kicking was excellent today. Harry's crossfield to Addison was a peach and in contrast to Carbery's...

Re: Summer tour of Dublin 2021

I think Dooley, especially, is very unlucky here. As mentioned above, nothing flash about him just always puts in a solid performance, and I'd have him ahead of Ed Byrne in the pecking order (Though clearly Farrell and Leo don't see it that way).

Re: United Rugby Championship

Not sure I'll be a fan of the late Sep - mid June schedule. Hopefully that's just for this coming season.
The early Sep - late May schedule fits perfectly with the GAA championships.

Re: is the Rainbow Cup still going ahead?

Is it just coincidence that most of Leinster's games were late on a Friday night during the RC while the SA teams seemed to get prime time Saturday afternoon slots? Population of SA 60 million Population of Ireland 5 million Population of Scotland 5.5 million Population of Wales 3.2 million Populat...

VdF a real standout from an otherwise abject performance.
R Kelleher and Keenan also put in decent shifts

Re: General GAA thread

I was also thinking about McCaffrey while watching the game - he really is a game changer, and I think Dublin will feel his absence more this year. Mannion is a strange one - All Stars in '17, '18 and '19 - yet spent most of last season on the bench. Dessie mustn't rate him as highly as Jim (and mos...

And Donal Lenihan saying that at 30 "his best three or four years are ahead of him" is being a bit optimistic!
People having been writing Healy off since he turned 30 (admittedly he has had a much heavier career).

Re: Leinster v. Ulster, Rainbow Cup, Fri 14 May, 20.15hrs

Didn't notice it but apparently Ringrose kicked the conversion(?) Byrne obviously not 100% That’s right, and he’s not kicking pens from hand either So we’ve about a 50% of an out half then ?? And actually Henshaw has been at first receiver a lot too , so maybe 40% ? I thought JOB was just taking th...

Or maybe the coaches watched his Senior Cup highlights and finally realised he’s the best kicker in the squad.
 I'm sure that BS was put to bed after his misses last week!
