Re: Tighthead Prop going forward

The Nucifora effect.

Would be a good signing. So silly it was made necessary.

Leavy out for the season with knee cartilage surgery.
Poor guy.
Never been a fan personally of Leavy at 8. Nor me, but he's been picked there before.
Is there not a chance that Doris could be involved to get some game time? If he got sparked in training, h...

Re: Away to Scarlets, 30/01, Saturday @ 7.35pm

It was interesting the way Christian Cullen held the ball in one arm almost still doing proper sprint arm action when he was in the open. Guys with hands like spades that can grip the ball in one hand can have much less disruption to natural running technique. Unfortunately, most of them are big he...

Re: Away to Scarlets, 30/01, Saturday @ 7.35pm

So few kids are ever taught to run properly. That's because PE in many/most schools in Ireland is more like playtime. In some European curriculums I know, sports is a serious compulsory subject, with very professional sports teachers. I was properly "taught" to run only in 6th year in school, and o...

Re: Scrumhalf going forward

He's being lauded for his pass to Hanrahan for the dropgoal.
It's been two years but I seem to remember him having the best pass of the three 9s.

Re: Scrumhalf going forward

What an odd move by both parties but particularly McCarthy. McCarthy wasted two years of his career by joining Munster. But rejoining Leinster to fight to become the third choice scrum half is weird. Why not go somewhere, anywhere, else? Maybe he looked at Conway, who wasted about four years on his ...

Re: Away to Scarlets, 30/01, Saturday @ 7.35pm

Thought Frawley always looked class and confident, but one of his problems was overconfidence: trying passes and breaks that weren’t on. Surprised not to see more people mention Dooley, who I thought was very good. Lots to like but it is really a shocking competition this season. Beyond the interpro...

Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1

Shame to have to block anyone, particularly as it’s nice to be confronted with alternative views, but a Munster fan coming on here to claim “we wuz robbed” by a decision, after a pretty shambolically anti-Leinster bias from those Munster branch officials, is the final straw. I didn’t even want to me...

Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1

If Farrell starts Stockdale at FB over Keenan he needs to be purchased a one way ticket on any airline still flying. Keenan is a natural FB, Stockdale isn't. I totally agree. I've also always thought Keenan was such a natural 15. That said, at u20 Ireland, Stockdale was 15 and Keenan wing; and I th...

Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1

Back 3 struggled in kick defence Don't agree with that statement at all. I thought Keenan was excellent, as was McGrath, when he was in back field. JOB didn't have much fielding to do but it was clear he was unsure of his role on the wing. You could have played the Benny Hill tune when a kick was s...

Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1

McGrath, I believe, has gotten himself back into the Ireland squad after that. Those 2 runs up the left in the 2nd half alleviated a lot of pressure. Even if he throws the odd wobbly pass, that intelligence at 9 is priceless. Sent from my 5029Y_EEA using Tapatalk Some of his passing was woe jaysus ...

Re: Away to Scarlets, 30/01, Saturday @ 7.30pm

A lacklustre Scarlets lost at home to a one dimensional Cardiff Blues yesterday 10 - 13. Their scrum looked vulnerable at times and Halfpenny was unusually inaccurate with penalty kicks. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/55746614 That could almost be a description of Munster’s loss to us :)

Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1

lineout let us down again Were we watching the same game? I think we stole 3 Munster lineouts and made a mess of 2 or 3 more. And our own ball was largely secure apart from 2 or 3 ropey ones. Compared to what we have served up recently, and considering the fact that both hookers threw well, and als...

Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1

Absolutely delighted to see Fardy starting. As we all know only too well, the dog is needed in Thomond, but not a a witless petulant red card prone dog, as in 2018. Let's hope JS keeps his cool. Agree with this. This forum has been boiling the pot to turn him into glue for at least a year. I still ...

No sign of Bent or Dev in the training photos, so I wouldn't be certain that it was a choice to pick Clarkson or not to pick Dev.

One guy who was pictured at training, and who I would have expected to see involved, is Ryan Baird.

Re: Munster Away 26/12 19:35 Eir Sport 1

I'd have Rhys, dan and doris but will prob be vdf at 7. As mentioned above, I really don’t understand why so many people on this forum rush to write off VDF. He was excellent, as usual, vs Ulster. Meanwhile, as much as we all want, nothing we have seen from Leavy so far would suggest he is back to ...
