Re: 2021 Lions

Bit of a side note but what's the story with off the ball? I see it on you tube and they get a lot of high profile guests in various sports Is it an on line thing or is it on mainstream tv/radio in Ireland? what would the equivalent of it be in the uk? is it a 24/7 show ? Off the ball is (or was or...

Re: Corona Virus

How I wish that the Govt and the HSE and NPHET would pay attention to Prof. Luke O'Neill's statement today about the sluggish vaccination of over 60s with underlying conditions. I fall into that category having a condition that makes me susceptible to infection and I am waiting and waiting to hear ...

Re: Season Tickets 2021/22

Window to upgrade or buy extra season tickets opened today. In case anyone is interested (or have friends thinking of buying new season tickets), I counted just over 800 tickets left - would imply about 13.5k sold already (unless they are only releasing some for existing ST holders)

Re: Summer tour of Dublin 2021

Paddy Power has us 10 point favourites. I don't agree. If Japan get parity up front I think they will win. We have a lumbering backline in 11, 12 & 13. Both our wingers are poor defenders. Ta. So how does that work as actual bet! Given that Japan are likely winners with a ten point start and th...

Re: United Rugby Championship

With 1 less guaranteed HEC game and less URC games the Leinster marketing team are really going to need to start upping the crowds for URC. Hopefully the extra sprinkle of SA quality will help with that. They're going to need to up something alright (or else reduce the season ticket costs going for...

Re: United Rugby Championship

Will it theoretically be possible for a Regional Pool winner to qualify for the Champions Cup while not being among the top 8 finishers in the League? Probably yes. You could win 4 interpros and lose every other game - think that would top the regional pool. It sort of gets back to the original poi...

Re: is the Rainbow Cup still going ahead?

Why should someone be sacked for doing their very best in the face of unprecedented challenges? I've enjoyed lots of the games. Because they’re totally incompetent. I’m not going to repeat all the points I’ve already made in this thread, my posts are there if you want to read them. Weren't agreed b...

Re: Spectators in RDS ON 11TH June v Dragons?

Being loyal or foolish, I'm not sure which, I bought 2 memberships as I have 2 season tickets. I was only given the opportunity to enter the lottery once, so your chances have gone up slightly. I'll wear both of my scarves if I win. That's a bit unfair, you should have had two shots. I doubt that t...

Re: Leinster v. Ulster, Rainbow Cup, Fri 14 May, 20.15hrs

What is the point of the goal line drop out after being held up? Seems like you are punishing the attacking side for going after a try. remember thinking that was odd too. Was it lost forward? i.e. instead of a 5 yard scrum for defending team they get a goal line drop out. Nope. It's a bit like a &...

Re: Leinster v. Ulster, Rainbow Cup, Fri 14 May, 20.15hrs

Well there’s certainly no confusion now as to Leinster’s intentions in the Rainbow Cup. Like Munster, Leinster have again selected a very strong squad showing that they are not treating this as a development tournament as hoped for by many supporters. This is shaping up to be a cracking game, but I...

Re: 2021 Lions

I think Tadgh Beirne will definitely get it He's certainly on most people's list and he has the advantage of being versatile. But... I worry that as a lock he's just too lightweight against the Saffers. And as a second row / 6 he is vying with Itoje and Henderson. I can see one crossover back 5, po...

Re: Champions Cup 2020 / 21

Before the Nigels took over there were only 6 or 7 French and 6 or 7 English. The rest were done by country but it was a shitload of pro12. I'd have to look it up to say exactly but it was something like 3 or 4 Irish (I Think we had all 4 a couple of times) 3 or 4 Welsh. Both Scots Both Italians. I...
