Re: Instead of Ireland's Call.....
I've often thought Luke Kelly's 'song for Ireland ' could be an option. Obviously the lyrics would have to be changed up but if it was done tastefully by the right artist it could be a runner. I never sing irelands call. It all just seems a bit forced and cringeworty. Especially during the middle in...

Re: World cup warmups
One thing that's starting to get a bit tiresome is the inevitable nod by journalists to the gaa backround, no matter how brief, of an irish player nearly everytime a try is scored involving an overhead catch, or cross field kick.eg Madigan yesterday or henshaw vs England. England scored a similar t...

Re: Leinster Squad 12/13 So far
That's cr@p news. But, to be fair, wasn't that the times we thought Sean and Luke would be coming back anyhow? True. It's more the news that Ruddock and Dave K are out til November for definite. And the news about Furlong is also worrying considering he's such a brilliant prospect I just watched th...

Re: JWC Squad
Did furlong go off injured after he came on? Seemed to shore up the scrum for the few minutes he was on http://www.espnscrum.com/scrum/rugby/match/161523.html According to this he came off on 75 minutes but I think he was gone before then. thought he moved to loosehead for a while no, although it s...

Re: General World Cup Thread
All I am saying is that refs shouldnt be reffing in the pools that their own country are involved in. What if Wales needed samoa to lose just to progress? Its putting unfair pressure on the ref also as any controversal call will be questioned. Once it gets to the knockout stages the best performing ...

I cant understand how he got to ref this match considering how the result could affect Wales progression in the tournement.

Re: World Cup Warm up Matches
Poor irish performance in general today. Even taking into account that it was the first game of the season and it was mostly a 2nd string team. Only plus points were the return of Kearney and Flannery. I dont see the return of O Leary as a positive. Sexton has yet to have a decent game when paired w...

Re: Wales - Ireland
i suppose Rhys Rudddock was the last call up from out of the blue without having established himself at a province. In my opinion Luke Marshall could surprise a few people if he got a call at 12. He should be in the fold now being groomed to step in for BOD/DArcy.

Re: Ireland v France
THIS IS NOT A POST ABOUT PROVINCIAL BIAS BUT: Can you please explain what D'Arcy brings to the team other than he's a mighty tackler? He has scored SEVEN tries in 53 appearances over 12 seasons. That's not even one per year and since he scored against Argentina we can expect no more this season. Ma...

Re: 34 man November Internationals squad
I would prefer Dan Touhy over MOD, Toner or Ryan. I remember watching Irelands summer tour and thinking that leinster had signed the wrong 2nd row from Ulster. Was he injured in pre season or is it just the SA imports keeping him off the team? Maybe it would be better for everyone if it was him and...
