Re: Munster Thread 2010/2011
Horan was OK, think it was obvious enough that Hayes was the root of the scrum issues in the first 40. Fogs was busy in the loose but the lineout is often a disaster with him in harness. It can't all be systems failures/lifters/mistakes in the calls so he has to take a fair whack of blame. Hayes...t...

Re: What now?
I didn't say we were destroyed at the breakdown, I said the contact zone. And the front row is a crucial area, if you aren't at least on an equal footing there (not just in terms of scrummaging but also in terms of physicality around the park and in the contact) your chances of winning decrease dra...

Re: Munster thread 2009/10
i'm pretty sure du preez will return home, he may stay on until the end of the season at a push, i'd say after getting a call up for SA he will head home and try fight for a world cup spot. i would love to see him stay but i doubt it For Du Preez to stay, Munster would have to release one of their ...

Re: Lineout calls
Having never played i'm a bit clueless on lineout calls, what would a typical (and basic) call be? Is it just a number code? Surely we could do ours in Irish if it's just numbers no? I'm sure it varies between teams and levels so someone who's currently playing could give you a much better idea of ...

Re: Lineout calls
Several of the Irish forwards are fluent in Irish (Fla, for sure, think POC is too) so shouldn't be that difficult.
Mix in a bit of Afrikaans and the opposition would have great fun trying to unpick the code.

Re: SA: How to accept defeat gracefully!
Thought I read somewhere that France asked NZ, who answered in the affirmative, if they could retain their home colours as they have a new strip? I read somewhere that the IRB had changed that recently but obviously we changed for the Saffers at the weekend. Either way, didn't France change their s...

Re: Lineout calls
Are they saying that the SA calls in Afrikaans literally said where the ball was going? I can't believe nobody has done it before if thats the case. Would have been a better idea to wait until a potential meeting in 2011 to unleash this one? Not quite. Smal designed the SA lineout. He knows the cal...

Re: Munster thread 2009/10
Haven't given it much thought to be honest. Would like to see it go to somebody Irish though. Yer man in your avatar seems like a likely lad so ;) Not even in jest! I think people's issue with Fisher is that he turned a top-class lineout into a shambles for much of last season, only for Gert Smal t...

Re: Ireland need a fetcher!!
After attending the Ireland v South Africa iv never been more certain that Ireland need a 7 in the McCaw Brussow callibre, Wallace is good but like O Brien he is a ball carrying flanker. Jennings is our only real openside who can operate on the ground and its gard to see him ever displacing wallace...

Re: bad form from the saffers at end of game
Has this been confirmed before we all go slightly bonkers? Shameful stuff if correct Yeah, I watched the game again and you can see Rob Kearney looking around as if to say 'what the hell'!! I've watched a load of club, provincial and international matches. But even in the roughest games, both teams...

Re: Munster thread 2009/10
Another win for Munster A tonight, 18-6. (N) Williams came on late into the second half, seeing him seemed to get the crowd going but he missed a tackle, knocked a ball on and that was about it really. Would be surprised if he's around next season given how he's been benching for the A side 2 weeks ...

Re: The Leinster 'A' Thread
Competitive match, no real stand out performances, O'Donohue was missed when he went off however. It looked like a full Pirates team by the size of that crowd. Desperate calls on both sides by the ref and linesmen. Loved the way Eoin O Malley spear tackled their fullback late twice in 3 minutes and...
