Re: Rumour Mill
Has anyone heard anything about Jack Boyle signing for Munster? Had heard the various rumours that he might be leaving over the last year and a bit, most notably the Exeter links last year, but a colleague who has a good track record on these things told me yesterday a deal is done and that he's si...

Re: European Player of The Year 2024
I'll call it the Investec Cup or the Heineken Cup, but I won't call it the Champions Cup.

Re: Leinster Academy 23-24
Expect Andrew Osborne to start in relativity strong leinster team on weekend. interesting, suppose he impressed last time out. Not that surprising. I had a guess at a possible 30 man squad and outside backs was relatively hard with the injuries already. He might well have gotten a chance anyway but...

Re: Leinster move to Aviva Stadium for 24/25
I’d guess it’s croke park for the home country advantage knock out games, for example a semi final of the Heineken cup. They obviously don’t want to say it’s for that only as it comes across very presumptuous but we probably have to register the aviva as our home stadium this year thus it can’t be ...

Re: Leinster move to Aviva Stadium for 24/25
There are 12.5k season tickets. We sold c. 42k seats for the Leicester game and just managed to sell out a quarter final against our sworn enemy in a massive match. Who in their right mind thinks we should be playing matches in Croke Park? I presume they will change their mind once they see how bad...

Re: Lions v Leinster - Sat 20 April, 14.00 - RTE2
was a rough experience for Barron, who bounced back and is now clearly 3rd choice. Yep. I thought that would have been curtains on his Leinster career with McKee playing so well last season. To his immense credit he has stepped up whenever called upon and I agree is 3rd choice hooker at present. Al...

Re: Leinster move to Aviva Stadium for 24/25
Hmmm If I (20 something years sth) want to sit beside my wife (not sure but certainly 15 yrs+ STH) at a match next season, according to my reading of the FAQs, then one of us has to drop our individual season ticket, buy two on the same account, and when the RDS re-opens, then that person "wou...

Re: Leinster move to Aviva Stadium for 24/25
I think they should have let people pick their tickets in Croke Park in advance rather than have to do it every time we move there.

Re: Leinster move to Aviva Stadium for 24/25
It’s easier just to buy individual match tickets especially with 52,000 tickets to sell? There will of course be additional seats available to purchase next season in the Aviva Stadium or indeed Croke Park. However, match day ticket prices will increase to help off-set the cost of these moves as wel...

Re: Leinster v Northampton Saints - EPCR Semi-Final Croke Park 4th May
A chunk of Northampton's allocation will come back and it looks like there were no seats in the Hogan stand up today. There should still be decent seats available tomorrow. This is what Northampton have to buy in their allocation https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240418/d83491de579305f2bdf7de1266c...

Re: Jordi Barrett to sign for Leinster
did the outrage over central contracts start after Sheehan got his CC or after Barrett chose to come to Ireland, instead of France or Japan for his sabbatical? There was some bitching and moaning about Sheehan (not because of Sheehan, no one will say he doesn't deserve it) but for the effect it has...

The Interpro thread
Interpros were quietly added back and I only just noticed. https://www.unitedrugby.com/match-centre/shields/2023-24 The Shields now only count the results of derbies. So the old competition is back under a new name. As per here there are now prizes: https://www.unitedrugby.com/latest/news/urc-announ...

Re: Lions v Leinster - Sat 20 April, 14.00 - RTE2
This year we're not doing the whole win 16 games so we can spend the kids to SA thing and still come 1st. It feels weird saying it but that's the situation now. It was exhausting pressure to be perfect and it caught up with us. If we come 5th-8th we have an away QF and a bit of travel. But we can be...

They didn't have a game last weekend. Hysterical fans gonna hysteria. I wouldn't take them seriously.
Rowntree is creating positive vibes and actually won a trophy, but results otherwise have been poor. He's immune. Anger has to be routed elsewhere.

Re: Lions v Leinster - Sat 20 April, 14.00 - RTE2
There's a month between the Investec Final and the BKT URC Grand Final.
Balancing 2 knockout competitions is a very different prospect this year. Same with this tour, there are 3 URC games after it.

The Grand Final is June 22.
Ireland play in Pretoria on July 6th.
URC knockout attendances are terrible anyway. Having to travel wouldn't be that big a deal.
Going all out to have easier URC knockouts didn't do a lot for us in recent years. We don't need to sweat it.

Re: Jordi Barrett to sign for Leinster
Leinster were willing to slaughter some sacred cows, but ones that weren't really fundamental to us. We removed clubs from having any role in the running of the pro game (this was easier after the 2006 ticket fiasco). We abandoned the rebuilding of Donnybrook when it was clear it was no longer suita...
