Re: Stormers v Leinster - Sat 27 April 18.05 - TG4

We can win this. While we're leaning heavily on the academy there's still a core of solid players who'll be used to winning games like this. There's enough power in the pack to generate a platform and after that the lads have a shot if it doesn't go horribly wrong. Lions were really good last week b...

Re: Stormers v Leinster - Sat 27 April 18.05 - TG4

Congrats to Gus McCarthy on his debut, if he gets on. Not the strongest team but I have high hopes because of relentless unjustified optimism. Cmon Leinster. Are you me? I always think the Leinster selection can do it, even when I know it's not enough. Yes. I'm one of your multiple personalities th...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

The ROG article is interesting and revealing, in what is said and what is unsaid. The Synman stuff completely misses the fact that Munster cut Snyman because they wanted to spend money elsewhere. And then he tries to stoke up bitterness with Munster fans from that. He talked before the game about ha...

Re: Central Contracts

Munster are pretty influential and chippy enough to publicly stand in opposition to the IRFU. Our supporters wouldn't have our back to the same extent, which isn't something I have too big a problem with. I think the IRFU have slowly been forced to be stronger with Munster. I'd portion most of the b...

I'd say it's ticket related.

Yeah. I haven't listened to all yet but Darce was being unusually technical.

Re: Connacht 2023/24

Connacht have a special role for Nucifora, one that greatly enhanced the scope of the IQ system. It's nice when they develop a few locals but it hasn't been a priority. Instead they are a destination to give a professional future for players who are surplus in Leinster (mostly) and they are somewher...

Re: Recent Technical Issues

I'm getting MySQL errors occasionally and a slow site.

Usually too many connections but also also complete unavailability of the DB.

Noticed the errors about a week ago but it's been becoming more often.

Re: Connacht 2023/24

. That's probably how the squads end up so flabby. Birch said on the 42 that Munster had a rep as a soft touch with agents wrt contracts. What!? Jackman said Munster were seen as a soft touch by agents when renewing contracts. I mean many of us suspected that, but someone saying it out loud is mass...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

I'd be more excited about Scott Buckley if he was a Leinster player. Some of that is unconscious bias, but part of it is that when a player doesn't develop in an environment that isn't good at developing players I tend to default to blaming the environment for failing the player rather than the play...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

Munster took long shot bets on players when there was neither a short term need in the squad or a particularly compelling risk of them developing to first choice. I think that weakened their case for being trusted to pick a more expensive hooker. Not backing Scott Buckley more probably also isn't he...

Re: Top14 23/24

Remember, this is only true when it's about O'Gara going to work for Munster https://extra.ie/2021/12/17/sport/rugby/ronan-ogara-munster-return The quote today about being too big to accept an assistant coach job isn't a particularly good look. He's also speculating publicly about another coach gett...

Re: European Champions Cup 23/24

While I see your point, I would be surprised if there were a lot of fans doing that before they knew who was in the finals. No? As long as that figure is more than zero then it would be a really shitty thing for EPCR to do considering they've been advertising the KO time for several months. fair en...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

I like seeing Munster suffer as much as the next man but still think they should be able to sign a NIQ hooker. If we are down to Barron or Scannell for Ireland then we are in serious bother anyway. Munster have signed hookers for each of the last 3 seasons. They have a decent panel of hookers. If t...

Re: Season Ticket Renewals 24/25

Seems kinda a shame that if people wanted to upgrade to premium seats that Leinster couldnt/wouldn't take their money.

Doing anything major with boxes and corporate seats for 1 year only isn't all that likely, not at the level where you'd turn down season tickets.

Re: A whiff of Cordite

JvG wasn't a bad coach, he was one who didn't fit that well into the provincial setup. I don't think enough weight was given to that when hiring some coaches but it's something that Leinster nailed through having a backroom team who properly understood it. We all learnt that lesson the hard way, us ...

Moving the kickout time doesn't really benefit a lot other than TV audiences who'd watch both or people looking for a better selection of sports bars It's gonna take up your day if you're going.
