Re: Stormers v Leinster - Sat 27 April 18.05 - TG4

Possibly to do with managing altitude; return to sea level as close to the match as is possible?

Re: Leinster v Northampton Saints - EPCR Semi-Final Croke Park 4th May

Yeah but ST holders next year have to be able to buy ST the following year. So they are limited by the RDS limit. They could offer multi game packages that don't have ST rights. Sent from my LE2123 using Tapatalk There is nothing that says new Sarah’s next year have to be able to buy a ST the follo...

Re: Leinster v Northampton Saints - EPCR Semi-Final Croke Park 4th May

Go easy signs off rte programme with “Leinster have the money Munster have the points” and O’Callaghan contradicts everything he said at start of programme about Munster not able to compete financially. That said delighted to see Bulls drop 4 points and they will miss Goosen for some games. Focking...

Can only sell 14.5k season tickets. Re: Leinster v Northampton Saints - EPCR Semi-Final Croke Park 4th May

Prize money goes to whoever the stakeholder is and it's their job to distribute it - so in our case the IRFU, for English clubs it's the RFU/PRL, etc. The real value isn't the prize money, it's in selling the win. Sponsorship bonuses, increased sponsorship value and opportunities, increased ticket ...

Re: Lions v Leinster - Sat 20 April, 14.00 - RTE2

There was a lot not to like about that performance: System failures in defence along with individual errors, particularly in the first 20 mins. Somewhat understandable given all of the changes and the relatively new structure. Excellent Lions defence. But we played into their hands a bit. Panick at ...

Re: Leinster v Northampton Saints - EPCR Semi-Final Croke Park 4th May

bank holiday weekend helps too, I think. Munsters' legendary travelling fans helped increase the heineken cup profile & prestige in the early days but this croke park sell out brings it to a new level. 200,000 tickets sold over just three games, within three weeks, to watch Leinster play sets a...

Re: Leinster move to Aviva Stadium for 24/25

There are 12.5k season tickets. We sold c. 42k seats for the Leicester game and just managed to sell out a quarter final against our sworn enemy in a massive match. Who in their right mind thinks we should be playing matches in Croke Park? I presume they will change their mind once they see how bad ...

Re: Lions v Leinster - Sat 20 April, 14.00 - RTE2

I guess we’ll find out today what approach we’re taking to the squad. Will all players who fly tomorrow stay for two games? We really need to get at least 5 points from this block and preferably more, if we want to prevent a potential final at altitude in South Africa. A win this weekend seems almo...

Re: Leinster v Northampton Saints - EPCR Semi-Final Croke Park 4th May

I can’t see this match selling out or anything close to it. Based on the indicated ticket prices, I think it’ll be a similar attendance to the Leicester match. Maybe I’ve underestimated the Croke Park novelty, but I don’t think so. The opportunity to open up the game to new people and fill the stadi...

Re: Jordi Barrett to sign for Leinster

Welcome back to Leinster Jordie! The end of training ‘longest kick’ competition between J Lowe, Osborne and Jordie is going to be great; I’d pay to watch! He’s such a versatile player that it’s a great signing. Provides great depth and super cover over the 6 Nations and into the playoffs. The reacti...

Stephen Jones in the Sunday Times talking about the semi. There's so many holes in his argument that it's impossible he can't see them. He just likes being controversial. "They will face Leinster, who beat La Rochelle 40-13, in the semi-final, and in a massive shock, Leinster are not hosting i...

Re: Croke Park to host major Leinster rugby games

I hope I’m wrong but I really can’t see us getting more than 50k to Croke Park. ERC is organising which won’t help. The best hope is group offers and deeply discounted tickets. I think Nowlan Park would have been a much better option IMHO. Appreciate the immediate financial considerations but taking...

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2

https://www.epcrugby.com/champions-cup/matches/276405/match-stats We kicked more and much further, we won more turnovers, we blew up their maul often (they had 57% success). That’s very interesting. I was surprised by meters made and defenders beaten but thinking about it, we tended to go around th...

I’m loving the energy and enthusiasm in this thread for the match tomorrow. My heart has us as 30 point favourites! Big day for Porter. Hoping for another super human effort against two enormous tight heads with a gargantuan lock behind them. We probably need Sheehan to bind tight on Porter and chan...

Very surprised by that. Their tight heads are both enormous man (even by the standards of modern tight heads).
Milne is explosive and has a bit of edge about him (along with an ey for the line) but I hope he can survive at scrum time.

i wish ryan was available.. cant help but think we will be left wondering what if.. just like last years final. Ryan is a massive loss (as is Ringer). I wonder is there any chance of Baird starting at lock and Conan or Connors starting in the back row? The obvious benefit is it adds pace and dynami...
