Re: Private rugby academy in Kildare

Purely commercial operation in a bad spot. Somewhere in Dublin may work but this won't. Sub academy players will still have to stay with province so won't be available to go there those not in Sub academy should be busting a gut with their club and studying to get noticed. Other than beef up Naas no...

Re: Academy 2018/2019

Thanks to @mildlyinterested for all the coverage of this Tournament over the past week. Sounds like it will become a not-to-be-missed week for anybody interested in the future of the game in Ireland. Well done Connacht Yeah, I wonder will it always be based in Limerick or might UCD get in next year...

Re: All Ireland League - Thread

IRFU have formally dropped their proposals for the AIL which were overwhelimgly rejected by the Senior clubs in all provinces only 3/4 clubs in the whole country were in favour. The IRFU did however change the number of professional contracted players allowed play AIL from 4 to 6 per match made up o...

Re: All Ireland League - Thread

All Ireland League Final and the IRFU allow yet another total anomaly when the only full-time professional player wins the man-of -the-match award against the amateurs. No fault of Peter Dooley but this makes a nonsense of the IRFU regulation bannings payments to players (Regulation 6). Club compet...

Re: Leinster A 17-18

Very interesting re Deane & a big help to Mary's this weekend in game v Buccs, you wouldn't want to be in conspiracy theories with Doris only on the bench and likely to be available as well in their biggest game of the season. Kelleher no suprise & was more dominant than McNulty in their hea...

Re: Leinster v Edinburgh Fri 29 Sep 19:35 TG4 & BBC Alba

Might I suggest that our hookers practice their line out throwing on all occasions, at the same time and for as long as our kickers practice their kicking? You would think that would be a given but sadly is not the case, The Eddinburgh hookers had an unusual and interesting warm up in that they pla...

Re: Leinster v Edinburgh Fri 29 Sep 19:35 TG4 & BBC Alba

Kearney very poor for me plenty of joy on his wing especialy in the first half and poor or missed tackles not good enough at this level, he would have been hauled off if it was an AIL game. Midfield very poor again not up to it at this level but all we have at the momennt but did think that McFadden...

Re: Should Leinster try and sign Tadhg Beirne?

Beirne wanted to return to Ireland to be considered for the National team, Leinster have enough (not all quality) rsources at second row and back row for IRFU to say no we won't sanction it. Beirne told if you want back in it is Munster or your on your own, Beirne delighted to get an oppurtunity aga...

Re: Jack Conan - The most talented young No.8 in Keltia

People are going to hate this but I actually think he's amongst the very top no.8s in the world based on current ability and performance level. He just doesn't have a big pedigree or track record. The exact things that make you world class lets see him get a good injury free run and perform against...

Re: Port Elizabeth

It's a dump It may not be quite as easy to get to but something tells me it won't be any worse than Llanelli or Newport. It is worse way worse, very industrial town and plenty of no go areas, might be fine if in large group but you wouldn't be venturing to far from your hotel or the stadium if stay...

Re: Academy 2017/2018

Only one interpro this year against Ulster and an away trip to England or France so no real under 20s again and sub academy smaller than usual. 2nd choice players dropping out after academy spots given to lads straight out of school and being announced pre summer rather than the end as they have no...

Re: Academy 2017/2018

What has happened to David O'Connor? Has he been summarily dumped by Leinster? I wonder will Ulster go after him given the success they've had with his brother Alan. Have heard he is no longer going down the pro rugby route makes sense. Only one interpro this year against Ulster and an away trip to...
