Re: Tour to NZ 2022

by the spoofer Scannell called up due to Herring injury. Henderson also injured but no replacement called up. Where would folks put Delahunt on that list? He played just as well or better than Heffernan for a lot of the season and while there is nothing wrong with Scannell I am wondering why he wou...

Re: Tour to NZ 2022

ROC not missing the opportunity to have a little pop at Joe. I don’t understand what his issue is. It’s as if he thinks Joe was obligated to finish his career here and lied to get away. We all know how obsessed Joe is with the game, the issues with his son’s health, and that a parent died just befo...

Re: Tour to NZ 2022

Who could have predicted that we’d need extra cover at hooker? Really poor planning IMO. There should be an extra prop also. Agreed, and I’d hoped to hear that they’d taken the opportunity to send someone else with Scannell. We haven’t even played a game yet, this has the potential to get much worse.

Re: Leinster exiles, where are they.

So long Dev  I really hope we see him back in a coaching capacity at some stage. As I’ve said before, his size was both a blessing and a curse and he had to work unbelievably hard and be incredibly smart to overcome his deficiencies. Combine that with his lineout knowledge and there has to be a...

Re: Grahamunster - Graham Rowntree's Munster 2022/2023

Very interesting article in the 42 on John Ryan's exit: https://www.the42.ie/john-ryan-munster-5799113-Jun2022/ Thanks for that, nice to hear someone be honest and talk themselves up instead of the usual "everyone else does the hard work for me" bullshit. There are lots of potential reaso...

Re: Grahamunster - Graham Rowntree's Munster 2022/2023

Thanks for the link dropkick, I don’t remember POC doing anything like that! I thought Baird was a freak of an athlete for second row, albeit he might be playing more at 6 now, but maybe with Ahern and O’Connell coming through it’s just the new normal.

Re: Leinster Squad 21-22

Saying that people don’t care completely ignores what was going through his head. It’s a huge deal to him personally and will be to many others as well, hopefully the overwhelmingly positive response will mean that soon others won’t have to struggle in private as well. Jesus it’s hard enough for mos...

Just to ruin Hugo's evening, Conor Nash has extended his deal until 2024. If we hadn't already done so then I think we can officially put that one to bed.

Re: S Africa - Unstoppable juggernaut?

There’s no denying that the landscape looks good for them but I think Ray talks a load of b*%&!cks tbh. I haven’t heard this interview but heard him before and thought he came across really well. Followed him on Twitter and realised very quickly that he’s a biased bullshit merchant who just happens to sound knowledgable on podcasts and had to unfollow.

The type of fan who thinks losses only happen because the other team are cheats or the officials are biased against his team.

As I said I haven’t heard the interview but the point about SA joining the 6N is the kind of comment that I suspect he would present as fact when it isn’t the case, it’s certainly been his MO in the past.

Re: Leinster exiles, where are they.

Jager has re-signed with Canterbury https://www.canterburyrugby.co.nz/news/four-re-signings-add-stability-to-npc-front-row. See here from 16 May this year. Ah, that's a different story then, thanks. I'd seen people mention him being out of contract on twitter and didn't see anything since 2020 when...

Re: Leinster exiles, where are they.

Quote from the man himself. Never say never and all that but I think it's pretty clear where his preference lies: “I think I’ve made it pretty clear in the last couple of years that I want to be an All Black. I’ve put a lot of effort into it, I’ve stayed in New Zealand. “This is my sixth year in Su...

I think we should acknowledge Nick McCarthy coming out because it's obviously a big deal for him and I'm sure he'll be acutely aware of the reaction to it so it'd be good to show him some support. Huge respect to him for doing it and it's great to hear that he feels happier in himself now :happy cla...

How on earth did Brace miss Roos joining that maul illegally?! He had to run in front of Brace and hit it at a incredible speed so don’t know how his eyes wouldn’t have been drawn to him, then joined ahead of the ball carrier AND at the side. Crazy.

Re: Grahamunster - Graham Rowntree's Munster 2022/2023

I hadn’t realised that Jager’s contract is up now, surely he must be on move? He’s starting for the Super Rugby champions, there must be a good reason why he hasn’t been signed up.

Maybe he waited to see if he made the NZ squad before committing?

I am only going to say this 100 times: bring back the drop goal off a free kick. Drop goals are a dying art; free-kicks are underpowered and practically useless. Remedy two issues with one solution by bringing back an original law. We'll find out soon enough why it was struck out in the first place...

Catching up on the papers from this week and in his match report he said “mercifully, Shane Duffy is done for the summer after another yellow card”. How long before the football crowd boot him out of this role? Seriously what a w&%ker

I see Leo spoke about how power is an issue for us as well. When Leo admits it I think it might be time for everyone to accept that it’s a problem.

Re: Leinster Squad 21-22

I’d like us to develop another carrying 8. I know the back row changes a bit if Baird is seen as a 6, and you’ve got Soroka too, but I thought we lacked a carrier off the bench and that Doris and Conan were flogged a bit which added to them not being at their best in the last couple of games. Coombe...

Can you point me in the direction of where I said he shouldn't be on the tour? I'm not actually sure if you're taking the piss or not with that first sentence but I'll take it in good faith for the moment and just repeat that the reluctance to bring him on is an indication of his decline, ...
