He won't do as dramatic a change as that. He never does. Kearney will probably play 15 and Heaslip will maybe captain from 8. VdF i suspect will also start. Maybe even Henshaw? You have to keep a few key positions the same.

Re: Canada Test 12/11/16, 19:15

Some squad management will surely be needed with four Tests instead of three this Autumn. Joe will probably be working out who to play versus NZ and Oz and working backwards from that. My guess at a team: 1. Cian Healy 2. Sean Cronin 3. Finlay Bealham 4. Ultan Dillane 5. Billy Holland 6. Peter O'Ma...

Re: Instead of Ireland's Call.....

If i had one wish in life it would be that "hey baby let the free birds fly!" never be uttered again. The Fields of Athenry is a stunning song which reminds me of my childhood. The sped up version version with clapping and the "IRA" bit are as inspiring as a Carrolls' Irish Gift Store.

Re: Munster 2016-2017

I'm hearing Johnny Holland has a horrendous hamstring injury. Is there anyone Munster can get their hands on? Medical joker or otherwise. Miserable news for Munster and Ireland.

Fans aren't entitled to see their team playing running rugby. Leinster spent a long time playing running rugby and failing in Europe. You are entitled however to see structure and progression so on those grounds he failed.

Re: Darcy doing the Zebo

It was a gag he had going with Micky Quinn at the time who used to call him a posh c##t because he went to Clongowes. It's an 'S' for Southside not a Z. Think he might have even had it embroidered on his Preds at one time too.

Re: Which Club in Dublin for a French rugby player ??

Come to Lansdowne. We always welcome new players from all over the world. We've had a number of French players join in the last few years at different levels and they've all enjoyed the club atmosphere and won trophies.

There are far more important competitions ahead than the lions.
Cian Healy would beg to differ. Rugby existed before Sky Sports and the Heineken cup. The Lions is the ultimate honour for a player.

Re: Where to watch in Melbourne for 2nd test?

There was tickets everywhere before the first. Get into town on Saturday morning and start hunting. You shouldn't have to pay over face value if you put in the grind.

Not gonna go to the other side of the world and watch it in the pub.

that was a great era in schools rugby, two other lads Travers the terenue centre & Dowling the pres brey/michaels wing/15 were also cut down early through injury from the irish squad which won in Oz. one of my favourite games was Rock v Clongowes back in '97, BOD at 10 (and irish schools centre tha...

Re: Leinster Schools Senior Cup Final 1996

Brown and Frame would both have been 99. They were playing JCT in '96. Come to think of it, they were part of a great JCT backline playing behind an average pack, that lost to Shane Jennings' Mary's team by a last minute penalty going wide. The 11, 13, 14 and 15 for that Rock team were the national...

That's the '99 team you're thinking of horse.

I wouldn't put Hines in the bolter category, I'd have him in the first names on the team sheet category. Such a savage player.

Re: Lions Bolters

The less Irish players the better in my book. Why? because the lions historically have caused players to be gassed out the following season Rugby is older than Sky Sports and the Heineken cup. The Lions's are the highlight of our fabulous sport's calendar. The Lions > Ireland > Leinster. I reckon i...

Re: Ireland v South Africa (Sat 10th Nov, 17:30)

Kearney and Nacewa are obvious starters in the back 3, and having them there means that the ability to play full back isn't really an advantage. A fit Fitzgerald will start ahead of him. If Darcy is selcted at 12, McFadden will be ahead of him. Conway amd O Malley could be ahead of him as well. Not...

Re: BOD/Lions

Personally, I lost my mojo for the Lions a bit in 2005. Woodward just ruined it for me. Then the lack of crowds in SA didn't help either. I'm still looking forward to this tour but it certainly doesn't capture my imagination the way it used to....not that I'm too old, the first one I watched was 20...

I'm betting Warburton doesn't make it. He's made of glass. If he's fit(which I hope he is) he's first choice.

Strauss could tour or maybe even start.

Re: "Doping" in rugby?

Worrying. I have heard that with a lot of drug cheats in athletics the difference in times from when they were younger to after they doped is quite obvious (no sh*t Sherlock!) but that with Bolt, his times always showed steady progress which tied in with his physical development. That's very worryi...
