Re: Leinster v Northampton Saints - EPCR Semi-Final Croke Park 4th May

I dunno. Wasn’t even a question that anybody asked.

I’ll have a pint if someone with me wants to risk missing some of the match to queue. Or if I’m in premium. Otherwise why bother?

Re: The quickening 2024

You'd have to imagine the coaches are prepared for all outcomes, including losing to the Lions. If they haven't a plan, then that'd be a pretty glaring problem. So I highly doubt we'll see anyone fly out to SA. It's incredibly unlikely. We've got a team preparing for a sold out European semi-final ...

Re: Lions v Leinster - Sat 20 April, 14.00 - RTE2

Not sure the selection was so bad, the performance was just terrible. A total sh1t show. Leinster had 62% possession, 73% territory, 232 passes vs 86 for Lions, Lions made 164 tackles vs 67 for Leinster - yet Lions carried for 449m vs 370m for Leinster and scored 44 points vs 12. Just shows how bad...

Well done. You knew Beirne would get that steal at the end.

Pity about two missed conversions allowing a lbp.

This is a lot more fun than the earlier match!

Hope Munster get the job done here.

It’s a blight on rugby “no. Lost. Leave it. Leave it. Leave it. Thank you.”

Ref is an arsehole. He did not see a knock on because it didn’t happen.

He’s like an AI: always confident, often wrong.

Article on the Saints’s coach Sam Vesty, who we might remember from the 2009 European Cup final. Northampton play good ball.

Best thing he’s done for us since the beautiful scoring pass to BOD in ‘09 in Croker.

Re: New contracts for coaching ticket

As an aside, my feeling [strong feeling] is that rugby coverage in Ireland is a] easier and 2] worse and iii] much more plentiful when people are discussing problems and losses rather than successes. I can only speak for myself, but I like to talk about, and find out about, when teams play well, wh...

Both on 27% now. I think the neutrals who actually watch rugby will put the right player, JGP, on the top rung where he deserves.

Dupont has mainly shown how good he is by his absence this year.

Re: Jordi Barrett to sign for Leinster

I’d have Larmour at wing.

Guy has rounded out his game and added in the work that an Irish winger has to do. Next up he just needs to step an entire team and score for the general public to notice him.

Re: New contracts for coaching ticket

The same could have been said for Goodman.

He seemed to do okay.

We aren’t just hiring grizzled old lag but going for the young guys on the way up. I think that makes us a very attractive place for young, ambitious coaches.

Re: A whiff of Cordite

I was saying I didn't have any issue with him Lenihan is an enthusiastic fanboy. I have no problem with that but it was funny to see him so starry eyed. Actually I do have a problem with him: he talks over the ref explaining why he’s calling it like he is, making up a wrong explanation himself whic...

I don't think there's any way we cut Molony. Maybe we didn't give that strong an offer. He's not getting capped or all that likely to get capped. If it was Munster they'd be raging against the IRFU for not picking him so they could keep him easier. We don't think that way. I mean Fineen Wycherley h...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

Watched Saturday's game again last night. Normally I find Lenihan to be fairly balanced but can't stand the sound of Cahill's voice. Surprisingly thought that Cahill was the balanced one on Saturday. Lenihan sounded like a child that spent the week before Christmas in Santa's toy factory and then w...

Re: Jordi Barrett to sign for Leinster

It's actually not particularly fair on Munster or Ulster. They need help more, but we have a stronger case to that we'll get a return on the investment. If the IRFU gave Munster an extra million euros, what could they do with it. Is that enough? Agree with this. Jackman was talking about the potent...
