Ref has been a bit Lionstastic throughout
On field decision is a try for Boks three times.
Thankfully he was wrong on two of them.
Watson very lucky definitely.
Lawes was well worth a mom, not sure who actually got it.

Re: 2021 Lions

The bookies are usually well informed on these matters. Ireland beat Japan by 8 points, the bookies had it at 10, tight margins. And that's exactly what it's going to be today, tight, but then again I'm not a bookie Posted the above earlier in the wrong thread. Losing Jones will definitely be to the...

Re: Leinster Squad 21-22

Great discussion on SP. SP has everything you'd want in a 7 and a bit more besides, leadership for example. His size is only an issue if you need him as a frequent lineout option. Surprisingly he's 6' tall but not surprisingly he's 102kg. He's built like a tank and knows how to use it. There are thr...

Re: Summer tour of Dublin 2021

Very poor opposition and very little will be learned from this game, but great to see so many of the next generation get a run out. For me it was great to see Conway looking close to himself again. He is a crowd favourite in Munster, and I really hope we get to see him back to his best in green and...

Re: Summer tour of Dublin 2021

Didn't develop 2 of the 4 spots that need development. Coombes and Casey fine. But who's the reserve fullback? Is Harry Byrne gonna get a chance to bolt. Zeebs?? Not a bad option at all. Has to re-establish himself locally which may not be that easy given the experiences of Madigan and Moore.

Re: Corona Virus

Thanks, JohnG. Did that this morning but it just says that I'm awaiting my next appointment, of which I'm very much aware! I note Michael Martin's promise that all over 60's will be vaccinated within the next 10 days. I hope that is the case. Got my first appointment in Shoreline (Greystones) on 29...

Re: Ireland u20 2021

Osborne belongs in that group. The one slight criticism is that he tends to want to offload all the time, almost for the sake of doing so. That's eminently fixable, experience and some coaching will surely sort that Think he has a very high ceiling. Cosgrave looks an interesting prospect too, anoth...

Re: Summer tour of Dublin 2021

The number of missed tackles by our lads was the most negative aspect for me. Too many missed tackles always begs the question why. One reason but not the only one. The Japanese were doing a lot of off the ball "interfering" with our players as they (Japanese) came back inside. This had t...

Re: Summer tour of Dublin 2021

Didn't make the bet (don't like betting against Ireland) but the bookies lost this one. Having said that the 10 point margin they offered was an indication by them that it was going to be a tight game.

Re: Summer tour of Dublin 2021

Sometimes you just can't win. We beat a team which tore us a new one at RWC2019. We attacked wide with offloads and very fast breakdown ball. We took risks in counter-attacking and it cost us two tries. We beat a good team without at least 11 front-line players. I thought Japan would win. Despite r...

Re: Summer tour of Dublin 2021

Paddy Power has us 10 point favourites. I don't agree. If Japan get parity up front I think they will win. We have a lumbering backline in 11, 12 & 13. Both our wingers are poor defenders. Ta. So how does that work as actual bet! Given that Japan are likely winners with a ten point start and th...

Re: Ireland u20 2021

A penalty kick at the posts was the only logical decision.
Anything else was like a decision from NIAC, nonsense.
Regardless of the age level of the team, stupidity should not be condoned.

Re: Summer tour of Dublin 2021

It's a trying not to get fired selection. Which kinda is a bigger problem right now Doubtful that getting fired is an issue. However, Japan are a very well drilled team, the team we saw in the last twenty minutes against the Lions is probably closer to the real Japan and like in the RWC they look e...

Re: 2021 Lions

2 Big blows for the Lions, losing 2 players that would likely have been involved in the test team, including the captain. Given the attritional nature of the game these are unlikely to be the last changes to the squad, and we may well see a couple more Irish lads added to the squad. I am absolutely...

Re: 2021 Lions

Loath though I am to pour calming lotion on the flames of national outrage - but wasn't James Ryan a bit meh this year? What pisses me off is that we have the best loosehead lock of his generation, and we are f%~king him around and trying to blame him for not being a tighthead lock. He's not a brui...

If he was capped by Ireland you might get a lead from that depending on what you are trying to find out.
