Whither the "The Fields of Athenry" for this one.
The LAR lads won't really get it although they're probably getting singing lessons as we post. :mullet 1:

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2

Thats a pretty incendiary appointment considering that Dickson was one of the officials abused by Jonny after a match between these teams last year. Not only was JS banned but Leinster were fined €7,500 over the affair. This appointment puts Dickson in a pretty invidious position and piles totally ...

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2

Ref management has become part of the game nowadays. Rule number 1 - Do not molest or tackle the ref at half time. Rule number 2 - Most refs want to enjoy the games they ref. Rule number 3 - Be respectful, make your point and just as importantly listen to his message. Ignore what he says at your per...

Stormers (Now I know why they're called "Stormers") had a very strong wind in their favour in the first half.
This game isn't over by a long shot.

Re: Leinster v Leicester - Sat 6 April, 20.00 RTE2

I think both Harry and Ross are fine players and I don't really have a preference for one over the other. But, and lets be honest here, are we not arguing over what our favourite shade of magnolia is? It's not as if we're arguing the difference between two entirely different but equally brilliant p...

Re: Rumour Mill

Right had quick listen to it at approx 38mins on their latest podcast. They say look at the depth of Leinster bench, there’s talk of Kelleher potentially moving on with Sheehan ahead of him. No mention of IRFU or any detail. They even say maybe he goes to Ulster. His dad is from Cork. Unlikely he's...

Re: Leinster v Leicester - Sat 6 April, 20.00 RTE2

The only or most obvious flaw in Osbourne's game was that he went into contact too high and got held up in the subsequent maul. He and the coaches seemed to have solved that issue with no detrimental impact on his effectiveness.

Re: Leinster v Leicester - Sat 6 April, 20.00 RTE2

Baird is a great player but if we were seriosly thinking of playing him at SR then he needs serious game time in that position. A season at least. Parachuting him into the SR for the odd game simply won't work. Like every position in rugby there is a set of techniques and muscle etc required that ar...

Re: The quickening 2024

Thanks Johng.
This looks like being the tightest run in, in a long time.
BPs picked up or dropped look like being the ultimate decider. For example a 4-1 loss against the stormers would be a great result for us.

Re: Leinster vs Bulls, March 29th, 7.35pm

Two strong sides named, although we look a bit stretched in the 3/4s, particularly when you look at the gas of Williams, Moodie, KLA and LeRoux. The back rows look evenly matched so I think it’s the half backs who will have to win it for us by controlling field position and tempo. Fascinating match...

Re: Leinster vs Bulls, March 29th, 7.35pm

I'm also very curious to see how Jamie Osborne fares at this level. I think we already know Osbourne can do it at this level. He has a few European starts under his belt, most notably at home vs Racing last season, and played the full 80 vs Gloucester away too. Maybe a strong Bulls team is a step u...

It may well happen but nepotism can have a really bad impact on any situation. It sows seeds of discontent.

Not for me he isn't. Not yet.

Probably a bit early for this but just hoping Johng will work his magic once again, maybe after the next two rounds before we get back into the Investec.

Re: Leicester v Leinster Sat 20th 3.15 TNT Sports

Given that Ryan is likely to be gone for most of the remaing games, it's time to be starting Deeny with Big Joe (JJ on the bench) in the SR against Leicester and see how that works out.

Plus points from the 6N: Crowley has really grabbed the jersey. Not his best games this week or last but I have no worries about him and if anyone does take the jersey off him they’ll be some player. Nash makes me relaxed seeing his name on the team sheet. He’s a Denis Irwin type. Not as great obvi...

A lot of injuries been picked up tonight.
Is that because of the surface.
Anyone know what kind of money do the winners of the tournament get?
