Re: RDP12 Semi-Final
Well, that was a rather enjoyable weekend... Gutted to have lost another close semi-final, but there is no shame at all in losing to this Leinster team. Especially by just 4 points, away from home. Still not happy with the choice of Clancy as ref (not because of his nationality - just because he is...

Re: RDP12 Semi-Final
It looked really good on the TV. In the normal setup of the ground, are the 2 ends fully open? Not entirely sure as yet (hope to find out for certain at one of the open days in the coming weeks), but I believe for the majority of league games, yes. They are intending to put up temporary stands to c...

Re: RDP12 Semi-Final
Slightly off topic, but does anyone know much about Glasgows new grou d next season? Is it close to the city and is it a proper rugby stadium, shared soccer stadium, or new build purposely for Glasgow rug y? Any ideas? If only Sky Sports had been broadcasting an International rugby event from the s...

Re: The Quickening. Final stages of the inaugural Pro 12 sea
If Ulster and Scarlets are to have a chance, it will be at the expense of Munster. Obvious in the sense that Munster have to play them both, but also because Glasgow and Ospreys are likely to win their last 2 games, and both of them are ahead of Scarlets and Ulster. Wish I was that confident! Connac...

Re: Edinburgh QF sales reach 20,000
There seems to be an entirely negative response to Embra on here. A record Scottish club crowd by some margin and a win against the mighty Toulouse trumps any thing they were likely to achieve in the Pro 12. Let's not forget that Munster initially choose to "de emphasise" the Celtic Leagu...

Re: Latest HEC prediction
On the possible venues were Sarries and Leinster to make the semi: can a semi be played at the the same stadium as the final? I know it happened before in LR but that was a long time ago. Just wondering. I'm fairly sure before the 2010 QF's (when Stade Francais travelled to Toulouse) it was stated ...

Re: Edinburgh QF sales reach 20,000
Just make me more gutted Glasgow didn't get their pool :( Yea but chances are after sat their season is basically over (I know, I know, there are two teams playing, the unlikely sometimes happens, underdogs can win etc.). Glasgow, on the other hand, hasve a lot more to look forward to. But, seems s...

Re: Edinburgh QF sales reach 20,000
Now passed 30,000. It's a shame Rangers haven't gone into liquidation yet, or this would have been the most attended sporting fixture in Scotland this weekend - with a crowd larger than even Celtic's SPL clincher. Sadly, as it is, I suspect Rangers will probably manage to pull in at least a few thou...

Re: Leinster V Cardiff Blues HC 1/4 Final
Cardiff were truly awful - expected so much more from them last night. Certainly didn't expect to be sitting with 20 mins to go and thinking we could get a bonus point! :D That Glasgow have taken the full 10 points from them this season says it all really - we haven't even managed a single BP agains...

Re: Glasgow v Leinster
Is "Allez Glasgow" a regular thing, or in mock tribute to ourselves? T'is a regular thing - believe it goes back to a HC game in England about 10 years ago, as an attempt to try and get the French ref on our side... Not sure if that one worked. Far more common at away games than at Firhil...

Re: Glasgow v Leinster
If that was the kick that was basically at the centre of the halfway line then the Sky distance-o-meter is fubbared then. If you look at the distance from the halfway line to the 22 and then the 22 to the try line they are within a meter or so of each other in length. Firhill is a tiny pitch, any p...

Re: Glasgow Away Roll-Call
There's a few Wetherspoon pubs very close to Glasgow central that all do a decent breakfast which I think you can also get an early beer once you order it with your food (you used to be able to anyway it's been a while since I've been over!). This. Not sure about the ones around central (though I d...

Re: Glasgow v Leinster
His 'offence' didn't even merit a penalty (still not sure what exactly he is supposed to have done), and he has has already served 20 (yes, twenty) minutes in the bin for it (Believe it or not, even against 13 men, it took the Scarlets 15 minutes to actually score!) Pls explain? He wasn't allowed b...

Re: Glasgow v Leinster
From today's IT: Weir would be a good replacement for Jackson, but the TH situation looks good for us. Ruraidh Jackson hasn't had that much game time this year yet what with the world cup and then being injured. Weir has had an outstanding season so far. Yep, Jacko is second choice at best ATM (his...

Re: Glasgow Away Roll-Call
I remember I was up in Murrayfield for the pre WC friendly in '07. You weren't allowed a pint anywhere in the ground, had to have your hand stamped and go and stand out in a field out the back in the pissing rain. Fecking Knox ;) That would be a throwback to the days when the SRU stupidly decided t...

Re: Glasgow ticket
Just bought my ticket on their site and it does have an allocated seat reference.... Row F, seat 58 in section 2 of the JH stand. Your order confirmation will - the same as my ST has for the last 5 seasons - but you actual physical ticket that you collect on match day wont. LWA Given the attendance...
