Re: A whiff of Cordite
I couldn't agree less. Devastated that Kimmage is not writing it. Finally thought we'd find out about Bod the man. Now we get Alan English, who refused to publish the names of men using prostitutes in Limerick, which goes against the basic principal of court reporting. He will finish the book while ...

Re: Liberty Mutual in talks over RDS naming rights
I'd wager a hefty percentage of posters on here would be ignorant(or couldn't care less) to the fact we have streets in and around our home ground, The Royal(ahem) Dublin Society, with names such as 'Prince of Wales Terrace' & 'Churchill' terrace(Winston was removed many years back), 'Wellingto...

That's Jamie Hagan wearing Heaslip's jersey, or am I missing the joke here?

Re: Liberty Mutual in talks over RDS naming rights
It's a perjorative term (at present) for a South Sider(Dublin) who has aspirations and delusions of being somewhat British. Although they won't readily admit it, they look fondly and lovingly(consciously and subconsciously) across the water at their former colonial masters. They tend to scoff at Ir...

Re: "The Blind Side" vs. The Tighthead
In fact, baring Hayman and Sheridan, I can't think of another 6'4 plus prop that has ever been decent. Wyatt Crocket, Hayes, Buckley, Borlase, there's probably a negative correlation between height and propping. While identifying big, power athletes is important, I don't rugby should be in a hurry t...

Average attendance 2011/12
By my calculations average attendance this season for a home Leinster match is 22,117 which is pretty excellent.

Re: Pro 12 no tv?
A Pro12 highlights package similar to the ScrumV one wouldn't go amiss, though in fairness if you have BBC Wales you wouldn't be arsed with RTE's backward coverage.

Re: Brian Mujati allegations
What do you mean Isaac "if something was said". You and your supporter Stuka (interesting moniker for someone of such sensitivity to racist sentiments) have totally convinced me that all white South Africans are rabid racists. Heinke and Sykes (of the famous Van Sykes family of Amsterdam)...

Re: Brian Mujati allegations
"Ireland's Sunday Independent newspaper said Van der Merwe and Sykes, who deny racist abuse, were expected to claim they use the word 'bobbejaan' as a trigger call at the scrum in order to gee up the pack and that it comes from their time playing in South Africa. The word translates as baboon.&...

Like a steamboat he is full of hot air, not very fast and also completely obsolete, so you can see his point.FourMasters wrote:Watching the highlights now. Frankie Sheahan as Ireland's backs make one of their few incisive moves into the England 22: "Earls coming up on the outside like a steamboat".

Re: Brian Mujati allegations
Clearly I am a total idiot to have double posted and that completely removes my right to think that someone jumping to quick conclusions based on lazy incorrect national stereotypes is actually a racist themselves and just doesn't realise it. Spell correctly in context!!!! Reminds me of Les Dawson'...

Re: Brian Mujati allegations
I'd like to throw my two-cents into this. I have a small number of S.A white acquaintances (Some were friends at one stage). I would put the number at 30 odd. Some of these people are Dutch Afrikans, some are of English descent and two of them have Irish parents that moved to S.A. They also come fr...

Re: Brian Mujati allegations
At the moment these are unproven allegations. There is an investigation underway and I think we should all just wait until that is complete before engaging in a trial by media Well it's such an unlikely story: Two Dutch South African's racially abuse a black guy, who could concoct such a fanciful t...

Glad you find it so amusing Dan. "most of what happens on a rugby pitch leaves you open to a custodial sentence if it happened on the street".....what on earth are YOU talking about? How long was his ban for? 5 weeks.....what a joke. What about his "tackling" today.................
