Re: RTE cutting back on sport coverage

Still, nice to be first up on the interweb with an oblique reference to an unsubstantiated rumour from an anonymous source, eh?

Re: Ex-Leineyster players

Blimey, a career as players' agent mightn't be the best move for Bob after the stellar international careers enjoyed by messrs Kennedy, Geraghty and Danaher. Or maybe he's operating under deep cover for the IRFU . . .

Re: Aviva safety concern after the game

The only way i can see them fixing the problem is to open the railway crossing for 20 minutes after the match. The problem would be that if there was still a crowd when the wanted to bring the gates down, that people were still trying to cross.Although I imagine most people would be gone within 10 m...

Re: Organised Sunbathing aka Cricket

Nice knock by Paul Stirling by the sounds of it - 177 against *cough* Canada*. No doubt the England scouts are already circling. Reminds me of my 41 knock while facing a former Canadian international of West Indian heritage many moons ago. . but that's another thread altogether. Speaking of laughabl...

Re: Media stereotype spotting - dig at Leinster support

What's a thunderstick? Sounds like something I'd buy in a shop that has a buzzer on the front door. Happy summer everyone btw. I'm pitching my tent here for a while - ill winds and all that. .

Re: Munsterbans.com

In light of the Youravisionary song contest, may I present the (shamelessly self-promotional) ditty "The ban's too strong" *coughs, plucks a chord* I'm just an ageing wummer boy And on the board I used to play And I've called the tune To many a posting session Now they say I am a board cri...

Re: Munsterbans.com

Thanks Jenta. The revolution will prevail (once my apathy works itself through).

*makes vague Space 1999-style salute and strides off through dry ice and a off-white sliding door nicked from the Blakes 7 set, with strains of Python's Universe Song growing the background.

Re: Munsterbans.com

It may merely be a technical snafu, but the fact I upbraided (great word, not used enough today Imho) a mod over a bollocking he gave a poster who was merely highlighting good value in new jerseys was probably a factor. The fact I prophesised my own banning in the same post probably didn't help. Or ...

Munsterbans.com

Apologies for abusing the hospitality, but if there's anyone with access to munsterfans floating around and feels like annoying the mod, can they post or PM Point and get him to sort out my "technical issues". Banning someone a week before the HC final is a tad Wasps* for my liking. Frater...

Dear Gerry,

Just to add, I feel so strongly about the issue, I've signed using my forum nickname.

Best,

Timster (also known as Remtits for about two weeks).

Dear Gerry,

Do you think there's merit or otherwise in Brendan Fanning's recent observations re the Ulster fans. Keep up the good work.

Best regards

Timster.

Whatever about the content, the letter was far too long. Editors' eyes glaze over after about three paragraphs unless the missive is, for example, from a senior Catholic Church figure announcing he's coming out and setting up a massage parlour in Thurles.

Dedicated to all those lonely MF posters out there. You know who you are.* When I was young I never needed anyone And posting cr@p was just for fun Those days are gone Livin' alone I think of all the friends I've known When I dial the Interweb Nobody's home All by myself Don't wanna be All by myself...

Skyhawk, Do you believe the post was worthy of an immediate ban - with no warning and no indication of how long the ban will last? Do you believe it is then normal on a messageboard for mentions of a banned poster to be deleted as they appear on threads or posts? Does that not strike you as bizarre?...

Skyhawk, thanks for the advice on the PMs on the original thread, which was then bizarrely deleted. Several other posts on the thread also conveniently vanished. The posted response is to the "eh?" in Point's post. Nothing private was in the post that would have necessitated a PM nor a ban...

Ah . . I almost get nostalgic for the days when Ckav* tore through MF like Genghis on a day out on the steppes. I like to think my tagline caught her essence when in full flow.

I know, bizzare. I can only think he's nervous I might threaten his posts total some day. Good to see dissent is still tolerated though.

You wouldn't post on that thread asking when/if I'll be allowed back? . . . no worries if you'd rather not.

Cheers. Had the temerity to use the word polemicist in the "megaphones please" thread. Am currently undergoing attitude-readjustment internment in Gwlad - it's the fourth ring of Hades, I believe.
