Re: Munster Thread 2011-2012

These things happen in games , it was embarrassing the whining that went on after this incident. This is not directed at leinster fans as there were as many munster fans with the same opinion. That's an absolutely ludicrous comment in my view. Deliberate assaults on the opposing captain, with a vie...

Re: Munster Thread 2011-2012

As I've said previously on this thread, this Downey signing has come far too late in the player's career. Had he stuck around back in 2006, he could have developed into a powerful yet skilled centre in the Jauzion mould. As it stands, his style of play has been corrupted by the AP. He's pretty much...

Re: Tommy Bowe & Leinster

Not saying Gilroy would be having to line out for Dungannon but Payne was signed on ridiculous money (for a non international/project player) so he'd play fullback (utility back at Blues bit signed as a fullback for Ulster) and Bowe and Trimble would start. Poor Adam Darcy would have to try and win...

Re: Munster Thread 2011-2012

The IRFU and not the MB get the gate receipts for the HEC-Semis, and I just cannot see Mick Kearney of the Lansdowne F.C. Mafia allowing the game to be played anywhere outside his own backyard... the ERC get the gate receipts for the semi finals not the IRFU - the IRFU would get money throug...

Re: Ticket prices - fair play to Munster

Comparing like with like again, Limerick is not Dublin. The cost of everything in Dublin is higher, staff insurace the whole works. Wages are higher in Dublin in line with a higher cost of living, wages are lower in line with cost of living in Limerick. Sure go crazy and compare Leinster and Munste...

Re: Nice dive from Horan....

f%~k him, he's an embarassing idiot. bang out of order- the man gave his heart and soud for Ireland in every game i seen him play for us. Don't think you were calling him an 'embarassing idiot' when he was scoring tries for Ireland. What are you like. He's a fuc*en Knacker. Would you still be defen...

Re: Munster Thread 2010/2011

Two things, we weren't allowed sign a top level tighthead and secondly, we weren't allowed play NIQ props ahead of Horan and Hayes/Buckley if they were fit. Hence you've Horan continually ahead of Puc and Brugnaut goes from squad player to playing in most of Racing Metro's games. This is directly f...

Re: Munster Thread 2010/2011

The IRFU wouldn't a] allow them to get a buy-in tighthead and b] wouldn't allow them to play anybody outside those two anyway. That one is directly on Kidney's doorstep. Thats not true though, in the last four years Munster have had Pucciarello, Brugnaut and Borlaise, with Botha to arrive next seas...

Re: tuilagi vs ashton

As has been said, It was a probable red card for the tackle alone; a certain one for the first two punches and an unarguable lengthy ban for the third. Tuilagi is a thug. Fair play to Ashton, he's really gone up in my estimation. Not only did he stay on the field, he continued to play. After Alesan...

Re: Munster Thread 2010/2011

Any idea what the attendance was? I was shocked at the apparent lack of atmosphere and low attendance, although it can be deceptive on tv. RTE used the excuse that there were a lot of communions on today in Limerick. I had heard muttering during the week of bad ticket sales but presumed there would...

Re: Extracts from Quinlan's Autobiography

I don't recall Kidney ever picking Quinny in the centre, either.. Pretty certain he did actually, around the same time he tried Leamy and Wallace, in the pre-season friendlies in 05-06 Maybe you're right. I certainly remember Leamy and Wally being picked at centre though, and I don't remember Quinl...

Re: Treviso v Leinster Thread

According to Gezza in today's IT - the Italians are on our side on this one. I'll root it out. It is understood that Treviso would be supportive of O’Brien if they are asked for their view of the events. Their team manager, Marius Goosen, told The Irish Times yesterday: “All I can say is that we di...

Re: Munster Thread 2010/2011

Horan and Hayes were shocking in fairness. Just hope that for Ireland's sake that Buckley is not being 'cottoned wooled' as our number 1 TH now. du Preez and Buckley were held strong even against the Jones brothers. Horan and Hayes, really wasn't pretty, even the most blinkered Munster fan would ad...

Re: Leinster A V Munster A

Zebo is very quick and looks good with ball in hand - but he doesn't go looking for work, waits for the game to come to him and at times his defense is still a bit suspect. Bit harsh on Sammy - who would have reckoned that Halstead or Tipoki would be the big signings that we needed to play vital rol...

Re: Leinster A V Munster A

Harris Wright moved to flanker. Sexton didn't stand out but he wasn't on the field too long. The scrum was better with him at hooker but both teams had made a lot of changes by then. Good review - agree with most everything you say, but Reid is very frustrating to watch. Needs to play for his team ...

Re: Wright ruled out for season

If a prop is named as part of the senior squad and is included in the 10 front row players for either the ML or the HEC then you have to assume he's up to the part of playing senior rugby - otherwise he shouldn't be there.

Re: Munster Thread 2010/2011

Did Wian du Preez not start in that game against Northampton that the Munster scrum got destroyed in? Think it was in January. He did indeed. Considering the Munster scrum went considerably better in the quarter-final against Saints with Horan starting, it does raise some questions about how good a...

Re: New Munsterman has eyes on Ireland

Some strange theories on this thread Healy's scrumagging is going backwards? Not sure I'd agree with that. I think he's an excellent young prop coming through who has struggled in most of his international games just that when he was first capped more of the focus was on hayes's decline rather than ...
