Re: A whiff of Cordite

Which “journalist” asked Leo, in the press conference preview for the game, about O’Mahony’s contract? I thought Leo’s answer was perfect. I hope whoever it was realised how stupid and inappropriate it was, and felt suitably humiliated. No chance. I attend a lot of post match press conferences for ...

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2

Gotta laugh at all the whinging about RoG being booed. Make no mistake, this is nothing more than pandering to Munster fans, especially people from Cork. Leinster players booed often in TP down the years. Leinster players given nicknames like Daverage and Kneeslip. Leinster referred to as Ladyboys. ...

Re: Leinster v La Rochelle Saturday 13th April 2024 at 5.30pm RTE2

Do you think that ROGs antics and his standing with of Leinsters fans (and you would assume players) will hurt any future chances of being a future Irish coach? Of course not. The IRFU are not going to take into consideration what a few hundred people on lf.com think. If the job was available tomor...

Re: RWC 2027 : Ireland

I refuse to to engage in any further discussion about the next world cup..until the next world cup. The SH sides and the Irish media are overly obsessed with the bloody thing IMO... I get the feeling even in Ireland that some members of the media are moving on from that. The SH sides are interested...

Re: 6N Ireland Wales - Dublin 2:15pm Sat 24 Feb

Absolutely no reason to play Ringrose in this. The 3 other centres are fit and in form. The are no injures to deal with in midfield and Ringrose being back doesn't allow one of the other centres to fill in at 15 with Keenan out. Henshaw is highly regarded as a brilliant 13 even if he's played more o...

Re: Saracens vs Leinster, 23rd of Feb

id imagine we are relying on saracens streaming it.. which doesnt appear to be happening. Am I the only one, who finds this a bit weird or even off? Living abroad, it doesn't make sense for me to be a season-ticket holder. But if I was one, I'd be livid. I think it would be treating the Leinster fa...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

The "they are only playing URC games" is an interesting point in this day and age. The URC has a genuine claim (I'm not necessarily saying it is, but it definitely has a strong case), to being the best domestic league in world rugby, standard wise. So surely if you're playing regularly in...

Re: Netflix 6 Nations 2023 series

It's an easy watch. Some of the dialogues are seriously tedious though. Player having a boring pre game conversation with wife/gf, mom, dad, other pros. "How are you feeling about Saturday?" "Good." The other irritation is Mark Robson. A lot of his commentary feels manufactured f...

Re: A whiff of Cordite

How have we arrived at the situation whereby Bernard 9 caps Jackman is the Voice of Irish Rugby? For someone with a decent or mediocre career (compared to his colleages and the players and teams he opines on) he has developed into the spiritual leader of Irish rugby journalism. He's on tv, radio, po...

Leinster have a world-renowned Academy for a reason. With the exception of Kelleher, and maybe Deegan and Frawley, the production line, talent spotting and quality coaching will see them all replaced in the medium term (at the latest).

Any ideas who? I'm somewhat okay with it if it's: Ed Byrne Chris Cosgrave Brian Deeny Martin Moloney Charlie Tector Much less so if it's: Michael Milne Max Deegan Ronan Kelleher Ciaran Frawley Lee Barron/John McKee Somewhat okay? All 5 of those players will be replaced with players of equal or bett...

Re: Rumour Mill

So the how long until the IRFU pushing Frawley to Munster stuff is in the papers? I don't know why they wouldn't do that, or why the move would be a bad one for the player. He's 26. He isn't first or even second choice in the position he wants to play in. The players he's competing with for the 10 ...

Re: Munster Away on Stephens Day. 7:35pm

I have always hated this fixture. Even with Leinster's good form in Limerick down the years this is the one fixture I can happily skip. Win or lose, Munster fans demand that one big confrontation which shows a young Munster forward pushing an established Leinster player. The Stand up and Fight mome...

Let's not forget that when a Leinster player is rumoured to be leaving to, especially Munster, or when one (Carberry) does, the tin foil hat brigade is out in force here too.

"Lucifora" wants to weaken Leinster etc

Re: Munster 2023/2024 - Return of the Jedi????

Have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed that Munster collapse. Imagine being 4 tries to 1 up (5 match points to 0) midway through the second half and then coming out with just 1 whereas Exeter leave with all 5. Hilarious. Munster might well be the worst first seeds in a group, ever. I read some of the abu...

World's greatest fans™ Ban the supporter for life. A life time ban is ridiculously disproportionate for the 'crime' that occurred. He did a moronic thing and it should be made clear that such incidents are unacceptable in rugby. But a ban to, say, the end of 2025/26 season would send out a clear me...
