Re: Eddie Jones blames public schools for building 'compliant' rugby players
I just don't see the evidence for this. We won 4 European Cups and 6 Nations with players who came through this system - nobdoy can tell me that 2011 team didn't have resilience or leadership. Same for the 2009 team. The 2018 team balls out a tough and tight game and it was Racing who bottled it. I...

Re: Eddie Jones blames public schools for building 'compliant' rugby players
Lancaster was full of praise for the Leinster and Irish system on the BBC podcast, so much so that he advised the English RFU to consider its benefits. Leinster are making efforts to identify non schools players. I think there is room for improvement and do think there is a bias towards schools lads...

How did Leinster Rugby allow Jackman to continue if he had a concussion every week? He says that he had 25 concussions in his last season.

But I thought the same earlier, particularly because the new NZ coach came from the Crusaders.

Is this McKee on the left of the photo? https://www.sportsfile.com/id/2296303/ Looking like a bit of a tank. I am keen to see Jason Jenkins out there. He needs a Leinster pre-season more than anybody else in the squad. His last match was 03 June, which is more than six weeks ago now. Probably injur...

Re: Tour to NZ 2022
I listened to the Molecast at lunchtime. It was the one from the morning of the Maori game. They really should be getting a wider audience as the provide more insight into Irish rugby than the talking heads on the other podcasts that are floating around. Then again, they would have to dop the "...

Re: Tour to NZ 2022
I’m delighted for Tadhg Beirne and Peter O’Mahony but the over the best players in tour were Sexton and VDF. It seems to have dropped out of the conversation that there was 11 starters from Leinster in the team that beat NZ

Re: Tour to NZ 2022
Don't let Lions near them or we'll end up with 4/5 with career threatening injuries or a lost 2/3 seasons. Jeremy Davidson, Keith Wood, Sean O'Brien, Jack McGrath etc Fully agree. The Lions should be a thing of the past. Don't let anyone tell you that a Lions win would surpass what we witnessed las...

Came up through the club system, played with Navan at underage. He's 6'6'' and 18st according to the "interweb" so decent size. We seem to have passed on him as an academy recruit and he went to Connacht but moved on pretty quickly. It will be interesting.

Re: Tour to NZ 2022
Player of the series - Josh Van der Flier? I think so. Could definitely make an argument for Sexton but Josh is one of the best - and most consistent - loose forwards I've seen in over 50 years watching rugby Josh, Beirne, POM, Sexton, Henshaw and Keenan would all be in the mix for me, but VDF wins...

I see some comments that Savea was unlucky to give away the penalty as the ball appeared out. He was penalised for for coming from an offside position which he clearly was.

Joe Molloy asked BOD if he had choice between WC semi or series win in NZ. BOD went for latter saying that just getting to semi should never be an aim but winning WC should be. I agree. Winning the series in NZ wd be a tangible achievement of real merit, one that has eluded so many touring teams, n...

Re: Tour to NZ 2022
Timoney is knocking on the door for sure. Who Coombes reminds me of is very young Heaslip. Both got a lot of early mileage out of big upright carries using their natural strength, fending and bumping tacklers, scoring handily from close range with power, showing some nascent offload game, defence i...
